Ever receive any funny comments/remarks from haters? My ex-gf just found out I bought a FX35 a few weeks ago and bad mouthed it on Twitter, calling it a "ugly mom mobile". She drives an old Hyundai Tiburon. I never laughed so hard in my life lolololol

I can't remember who wrote the story, but the funniest one I've ever heard came from a harassed Craigslist dude who said the FX looks like a shoe. "Go drive your shoe leave me alone!" Ha.

No funny comments or remarks here. But when people see you driving an FX they hate on you alot "physically" instead of verbally like what you were suggesting.

On the high way people like cutting me off more now with the FX. They also give me dirty looks sometimes or ride the back of my bumper. That shit just pisses me off right there.

Another thing is the annoying drivers that try to race me. I had this guy in an M5 pull up to me the other night and gave me the look and kept revving his engine. I know I wouldn't even be able to keep up with his M5. But the best thing you can do is just not look at them and don't race them at the light. I found out it really pisses them off when you ignore them when they are trying to egg you on. In the end your the real winner :smile (2): No need to drop down to their level of ignorance.

But I've had more compliments than anything else.

You're right about having others cut you off, tailgating and the dirty looks. I have seen an increase in that since I bought it for sure. Haven't really had anyone try to race me yet. But I have got my fair share of compliments...

No idea, but I feel it, too. And it doesn't seem to happen when I ride in my friend's X5 or Q5. I guess they just stand out more? Look more expensive? There are fewer on the road? No clue...but it's real!

I have received a lot of compliments since I bought it back In September. I do notice a lot of stares by passer-bys, some finger pointing, and some pretty ridiculous rubber-necking. I believe its because they are not plentiful around here it seems.
I have had the typical, "Its the same as a Murano" comment here and there which I blow off. I don't need to justify my ride to anyone other than myself. Even after the most stressful of days, it puts a smile on my face on the ride home.

I had a dork tail gating me closely the other night and I can't avoid him as we are on a service road. I flashed my hazard thrice, still did not bother until I saw a small opening and quickly passed the car ahead of me and inserted myself on another lane.

You are right about ignoring them. I call it giving them their small victory. Theirs is not our battle ground. We have bigger guys to fry and toast :wink (2):

I had somebody once tell me that my car made them feel like having a smoothie. Im guessing the color. Good or bad I'm not sure but whatever. My wife told me it was ugly on the first day I brought it home (thus the name uglyorange) but she said it grew on her after seeing how many compliments I get everywhere we go including all her friends.

It's seems like there is a real love hate thing with the FX. I've heard the "big shoe" comment from a couple people, but more often than not I get complements. Also, as many compliments as I get on the looks, I get just as many on the exhaust note. :)

It really is a love/hate thing with the FX. I think it has a lot to do with how its modded too. I get a lot of positive comments overall on my FX. I hear the usual Cheetah and great exhaust comments too. But then again there are those disbelievers out there that wonder why I invested so much time and money into an "SUV". The FX is already a timeless car and the 1G/S50 design has been out for 10 years already. In another 5-10 it will still look fresh and timeless like a E39 BMW or W124 Mercedes. :top:

I had a friend who didn't like my FX

"had"
I would hate to get on your bad side! :eek.:

My uncle calls my fx "a turtle" hes old and doesnt know muh about cars so i just laugh it off when he says that.. And lots of compliments from complete strangers:)

I was pumping gas one day and a car full of kids pull up. I notice them starring and one eventually says "For being brown its pretty nice."

Ive always gotten compliments on mine, I get alot of people that drive by me and break there necks as well. Dont know if they like or dislike it but I always see people looking at me and my FX. Ive actually raced it a few times the last time against a guy in a Maxima and the dude would not give up so I just kept messing with him. I would let him catch up and then pull off, that seemed to piss him off, lol! Never had anyone cut me off yet, guess its because I wont let anyone get the opportunity to. :burnout::burnout:
