So the past few times when I fuel up my gauge does not move to the full mark. The pic you see is a full tank. I turned her off than back on.... no change in the gaugeSU1HMDAwMzAtMjAxMDAxMjQtMTIwMS5q-1.jpg.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have u been letting it sit for a while? I went away for some training up north for two months but didn't leave my keys with someone to start my car time to time. When I got back and turned it on the fuel gauge was acting funny. It would either stay at the bottom or go half way even though I had a full tank and had been driving around. If thats not the case I have no clue... just speaking from my experience.

This happened to me once. Apparently the gas nozzle back pressure auto cut off threshold was faulty. Before you replace the sending unit try a different gas station.

this happened to me twice, it s 100% fuel sending unit, dealers know this issue very well, dont pay anything to them .... They should replace it free. If they dont contact with north America Nissan directly to make them pay for it.

Often my gauge will read half of what is in the tank. It does it randomly, but probably once a week. Any idea what that might be from? I drive it daily.

My problem was bad fuel sending units. I still have warranty so Im not sure of a cost. It did take them about 5 hrs total.

I have the same issue with the fuel gauge. Gauge show 3/4 full most of time after fill-up. I drive mine everyday. Wow... it's takes the sdealer 5 hours. I'm looking into it and try to fix it myself.

Mine does it too from time to time. Did you guys hear about the recall today? Recalling the Nissan Titan, Armada, and QX56 because of inaccurate fuel readings.

Okay my 2004 with 98K miles just started with this. This is my question:

Is it the case that the sending unit is not actually sending the fuel into the fueling system, or is it simply a sensor issue? I don't mind just filling up judging my miles driven if my range is not actually decreased.

TIA.

im glad i saw this post cuz mines been acting up too... heres my issue... fuel gauge was about 1/4 so i gas up then it took only $10 bucks before fuel pump stopped, started my car and it was reading 1/2... another day i know i had at least a 1/2 tank of gas but gauge goes to almost empty (empty light even flickered on) then suddenly i have a little over 1/4 tank reading in the gauge... what gives?

Well guess what guys? I just started having the same problem on my 09 FX50! Last two times I filled her up to the top, the reading on my gauge was inaccurate (and I drive everyday!). I thought it might have been an issue with the incline of the vehicle, if I was on an incline or decline, but surely it's not. I will call the stealership then!

had this happen on my 08 G37 09 G37 and 09 FX50. bad fuel sending unit. replaced 3 times on the FX they know it would happen again the first 2 times as the dealer said infiniti did not make any changes but now the "changed" the fule sending unit at infiniti and the last change out worked fine.
