I tried this product on my faded window trim and on some faded areas of my bumper. This stuff works pretty good.It is a plastic dye.It took three application coats and then I hit it with some wax.The rear door trim is done and the front door is not you can see what a difference this made. Now that I know it works I am going to do the rest this weekend.

Very nice, I now have a weekend project. :top:

Does it look factory? or does it look like it is painted on?

The kit comes with a foam pad I only put a small amount of the dye gel on one end of applicator and worked into the applicator with a Q Tip.The nice thing is that if you get any somewhere you don't want it like your paint it will wash off easily with a damp sponge with a little dishwashing soap on it before the 12 min dry time is up.You have to look pretty close to see any signs that it has been dyed. The trick is to make a nice smooth pass on your final coat.I'll post pics when I get the rest done.It looked a little flat before I hit it with some Meguires cleaner wax but it looks pretty close to OEM now.:top:
Here is a closer look of repair.

Thanks much for the info, looks great.:top: I'd like to see if this holds up over a weeks time or two. In the past I could rub out the trim with a cleaner and wax with decent results but in a few days the fade comes back. Looks like this product could be the answer for a lot of us, thanks.

Could you give us an update as some time passes?

We will see the box says 6 months but I'n thinking if I keep it waxed it will last much longer.
I tried the clener wax method with the same results you had thats why I thought maybe a dye would be more permanent

Thanks,

I thought bat was making us overlays... but I never heard anything from him again. This seems like another good solution.

Just bought some of this Bondo Restore Black, could not find it in kragens or autozone, ended up finding it at Wal-Mart.

Going to test it tomorrow.

I finished the Final coats today and will get some pix tommorow. It looks 100% better.I washed the FX and there was no residual black left on clean towel.I am doing the lower window mouldings also.I had a couple of faded spots on black wheel well mouldings and on bumper that I dyed also looks great.
When you apply it keep a damp towel handy in case you get any dye somewhere you don't want it.It wipes off very easy if wipe it quickly.Make sure you wipe the top rubber seal with damp towel to keep black off door jams I found out about that at the first application LOL. I did four applications of dye.I'm going to put a coat of wax on on the moldings tommorow to give the shine.:top:

Mine came out kind of streaky:sad:

I just ordered some flat black vinyl sticker on ebay and plan on doing all the window trim. Now I need to figure out how to remove this stuff.

How many coats did you put on? Mine was a little streaky but after letting it dry overnight I used a cleaner wax vigoursly on the trim and it polished out nice.

I used about 5 coats, it is not that bad but not similar to the factory finish. I think with vinyl overlays it will look more uniform and last way longer. Still a good product though and I bet it works wonders on more porous plastics.

Good alternative, does Infiniti still warranty these pieces for replacement? Mine's already starting to look faded after a year.

Took this stuff off today, comes off real easy with windex. Then I polished the trim with turtle wax ice.
