I thought I would share some pictures, even though it is pretty stock. Hopefully not for long though. I am planning on getting some Gt specs and an MD 5/16 iso spacer. When I graduate college (in Vermont) next year I plan on getting some H&R's. I want to do more just need to think out what I really want, definitely in the market for modding though. Also need new brakes soon so I might get some rotorpros.

Ok. A local shop by my school just quoted me $475 to install a kinetix plenum, strut bar, front engine brace, and both rear braces. That seems pretty expensive to me seeing that it is all essentially bolt-off, bolt-on. Does anyone know about how much it should cost to get these parts installed?

the plenum and strut bar you can do yourself no problem.
all the other braces you probably need atleasta lift...I know a friend and I did my two rear braces but I got the other front 2 done by a shop. Either way, that is a bit pricey. Where In NJ are you?

Plenums not so bad from what I have heard, Strut bar is a 20 minute install and the rear braces are maybe 30 minutes. The time is in the front engine brace. Seems a little high but its a lot of stuff at one time. FYI-My shop did all the GTS braces at one time including the 4pt. ladder for 200.00. I would say if you can do most of it yourself and have the engine brace done OR get a second opinion and shoot for the entire install in the 250.00-350.00 range.

I know they are probably not so bad to install, but because of lack of time and tools I would really like to get everything installed at once. I was expecting it to be in the $250-350 range, not almost $500! This is supposedly a reputable shop however.

Maybe they would be willing to offer up a better price if you explained to them its your understanding that the entire install should run no more than 3.5 hours.....

I think you rotors are installed the wrong way.. The slots on the rotors are suppose to face/lean forward, so when you apply the brakes the slot end closest to the outer edge of the rotor should make contacts with the pad first. BTW..The rotors you got has the traditional straight inner vane design, so direction of installation does not depend on the vane direction. You can mount them either way, and it will still work. BUT if you want to utilize/maximize the ability of "slotted rotors", then you would install them with slots leaning forward.

The diagram on the right is what your rotors should look like.. (notice direction of rotation and slot direction)

I had made the same mistake before on my last car, after installing the new rotors, I felt no differences in braking power (and it was noisy as hell). So I did a little research and found out that they are on the wrong way, so I switch the left to right and right to left. After that, there was a noticeable difference in braking power and no more squeaking.. (I got drilled and slotted brembo's before, with the same design as the ones you have)

Don't take this as a diss or hate, you can very well do what ever you want. But I figure to throw in my 2 cents of experiences.. afterall this is what this forum is for right?

EDIT:
Here I found this.. AirVtec's BBK, notice the slot direction on the rotor and the yellow arrow sticker for direction of rotation..

+1 on FXLR8's post ^^^.

The internal airflow vanes are either directional or not. If they are, it matters which direction they are installed. If not directional, then there will not be any indication on the rotor as to which way to install like the rotorpros and Stoptechs. My Stoptech rotors came with a "L" and "R" sticker on them - I left it on till after they were installed.

Hey J, thanks for the input. I read up on the thread posted by fxlr8 before getting them installed. Maybe there is a difference as you stated but I do not have any squeaking with them so I don't think it is necessary to redo them. Thanks for looking out though.

Yea, I think that is a good idea. I know they do a lot of custom work with Audi's, but don't know how many nissans/infinitis they have done so they might not know exactly what the job entails time wise. Thanks for the help.
