I am doing a project for economics, so i need to do a poll to get some real-life data. basically just choose between washing yourself, taking it to a car wash, or having someone come clean it for you on the weekend. thanks.

pay the man.... im lazy, im a girl, and i can shop while it gets detailed. got it done yesterday as a matter of fact. claybar and scratch removal. pics to follow. maybe. after i install THE SNOWBOARD RACK!!!!!!!!!!! yay snow

Pics please cuz it'll be 4 months before the next wash:laugh:

thanks for everyones answers. those of you who said you would rather just take it to a car wash, would you be more likely to have someone come to you to clean it if you knew that person? reason im asking is because im "opening" a mobile detailing business for my project and im gathering data per the instructions. thanks again.

Don't trust car wash places, you don't know how well the rinse the rags, if theres still sand, debris, and they do it by speed either way theyre still getting their money.

WAHOOOO :glasses:

I'd rather do it all myself, but for washing I'd rather go somewhere to have it done, and for detailing I'd rather they come to me. Make any sense? For a simple wash it doesn't seem like such an event that would warrant a personal visit.

No - cuz mobile detailers charge a lot more than just the average car wash place.

I dispise car wash places..... im skeptic of the so called "detailers" because from what I see 90% of them are just some bloke who bought a craftsman rotary buffer and a can of wax and some turtle compound and burn the paint off your car and call it a detail job.... I do all my detailing myself.... much more cost efficient too considering a detail job can go anywhere from 100 to 500 to 1000 dollars and I just bought all my equipment for about 200 or 300 and it lasts me forever considering I only do my own car......

I wash it myself unless it is below freezing outside then it's the local car wash before I take it home and finish the detailing myself. They never do as good a jog as I do!

I voted take it to a car wash. But after I take it there....I spend at least another 30 minutes going over what they missed.

I do it myself when I can, only time I'll go through a carwash is when it's snowing & salty & too cold, or if it's just so far gone that it needs a detail anyway, but then when the weather breaks I gotta do a ful detail again cause the carwashes scratch the hell out of the paint... I'd rather leave it dirty for weeks & weeks than go through a carwash...

my fx looks dirty through the winter mostly..., I can def relate to ashleys pictures sometimes

There is this car wash in Maywood that I used to go to when I lived out there that was pretty good.

if you are going north on Atlantic, you make a right on Slauson and it's on the left hand side on the corner of King and Slauson at a Chevron gas station.

I rarely wash any of my cars, ever. But when I do I do it myself in the driveway. Quick hose down and brush. 10 mins and I'm done.
