I am working with a local mandrel bent ss pipe shop and have designed a custom full SS cat-back exhaust solution for my FX50S. It will consist of 2.5" pipe with vibrant flex joints off the cats, followed by a Magnaflow X-pipe and muffler in-one, followed by Magnapacks on each side, finished with 4" tips. Hoping it'll be a bit more aggressive than the OEM, but not overly in-your-face. Looks like it'll run me about $800-1,000 installed. Time to get it scheduled!

Honestly. If your gona get a full custom get up. Make sure you delete at least the downstream cats. Wich i did and its still alil quiet....:/. I think maybe just might be the resonators before the mufflers causing the extra quietness. I might build an x pipe to delete my resonators next lol.

Cool post a video when you get done.

Don't worry, I will

Did you by chance take into account room for fitment of of the OEM tow hitch or the rear GT Spec braces? It's a long shot but I'm asking because I'm still riding around with my muffler delete but if I find a bad ass exhaust I would jump on it. MD is not that far of a ride for me.

I did not, but good point as I would like to do the rear braces as well. I don't have a need for the tow hitch. I will have to see if they can account for the braces without actually having them. I think this may be a slight wrinkle for me.

However, if you already have all of those installed, they are a complete custom shop and I am confident that they can handle it. But I am sure you want to hear the setup first. I have to check to see if they are able to account for the braces without having them before I do the job. I would buy them if they were in stock somewhere.

I had somewhat Similar setup on my old G with custom header back. 2 x 14" Magnaflow glass pack. 2.5" mandrel bent with Magnaflow perforated X pipe and ended with the 2 x HKS Hi Power Muffler. It's a lot louder than stock, no rasp but quite a lot of drone. I had to then added the end chamber drone reduce (as seen on HKS catback for G & Z as well as the ARK Grip exhaust).

Can't wait to see how yours will turn out.

Hmmm, got me a bit nervous then. Worst case I do the same if it is too much drone. I think it's going to be silly badass, but I do want to watch the drone a bit.

In other news, I asked the shop if they could account for the rear suspension braces, I'm bringing them pics so they understand the mounting location - they said they'll do their best, but cannot guarantee they'll fit without having them installed. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I need to.

Yeah, put the braces on. Clearance on them is very tight, an inch or less so there's no way they can account for it without it being mounted. When I had my custom Invidia installed, they had to weld an extra hanger on to lift the exhaust enough to clear. I have 1/2" of clearance between pipe and brace. This was on a bolt on exhaust that should clear without mods.

im guessing you went to MBS for this? I had them do my set up on the M45 and it came out great and well worth it compared to "bolt on's". Whats the update for this by the way?

I did work with MBS on the design. I was waiting for the braces and after waiting for many months I gave up on the parts. As much as it absolutely pains me, I am adding a tow hitch to my ride so that I can tow a boat. (it was either that or sell the FX50s and get a different ride...not happening)

SO, once the hitch is done, it's going up for the work. Can't wait. It's bonus time and daddy is ready for new toys.
