I pulled her in the garage today and worked on the engine bay for a good 2 hours cleaning every inch and crack of the engine bay. I taped up the MAF sensors and some other wiring to protect it from getting wet with the hose just to be safe. I used some Chemical Guys Grime Reaper diluted and finished it off with some 303 Aerospace Protectant for a matte finish. I also took the time to change the airfilters, cause they were getting kind of dirty. Tell me what you think :)

Sorry no before pictures. But you can kind of get an idea of how dirty it was cause it hadn't been cleaned in months. When I bought the car they never cleaned up the engine bay for me lol.

No special products really. Just use a good all purpose degreaser. Remember to dilute it cause it may fade black plastics if it's too strong. Then finish up with a nice dressing if you want more looks. I used 303 Aerospace Protectant cause it leaves a nice matte finish and it's not oily.

The MAF sensors are the only ones I taped up. I used 3M blue painters tape to make sure no water got on them and screwed up the wiring. Their located right on each air intake.

the MAF sensor the the plug witht he wire coming off of it near the intakes right? that all you cover up? so i take it the battery compartment up top is completely seal? I want to do my engine bay but i'm so scare of messing things up.

Yup that's correct! The battery compartment is already pretty much watertight cause it has that plastic cover over it cause rain runs down in there, so it's safe. Anything in the engine bay can get wet, even the wiring. They just can't have alot of water induced onto them. A couple of drops of water won't hurt anything. Just don't drown everything in water and you'll be good. Just spray enough water to rinse the suds off.

Thanks I think I will try my hands at washing the engine bay next time my baby takes a shower. Did u spray directly at the engine or just let the water rain down on it. I watch some utube video on this an some people spray directly into the engine bay with a pressure wash other say pressure wash is not a good idea.
