chrome on wheels bubbling!?!

hey guys

so...i was giving the best a bath today and i noticed that on 2 of the rims, in 2 random spots, the chorme was beginning to.....bubble?

it kinda resembles an air pocket under a decal or sticker before you flatten it out...

pix will be up tommorow but does anybody know what the hell is going on? haha

the wheels have been on since the purchase of the vehicle--2005--and i have 28xxx miles on it....i live in new york (snow/salt/etc)

help me out!!!!!!!! i can't stand any imperfections!!!!

Are they on the OEM wheels? I'd take em back to the dealer if they're the OEM ones.

That is a fact they will start to peel and there is nothing to stop it. If they are OEM, just like what the fellas are saying. Take them back quick before it is to late!

i have 20 inch chromies that i bought off a guy a while back. upon close in spection you can see what looks like the chrome starting to flake off, but it is very subtle and you can't even feel it when you run your hand across it. i tried chrome polish but it didn't do anything. like i said i bought these wheels from someone, so i can't just bring em back to the dealer. i'm assuming it was the salt from the rhode island winters that did it to them. i think i'm SOL and will probably look into gloss black powdercoating. any idea how expensive that is?

there is a place by my house that will do "black chrome". But it is a paint not a plating, and they want 300 a wheel.

They are!! .... I got the crackhead deal but the more I look @ your setup, I still kinda wish i went with 22's.
