If you haven't heard by now, I went car shopping.

My family really found a car we liked, a 2011 Volkswagen Routan SEL with RSE in Calla Lily White. It only has 6,000 miles.

Power sliding doors, rear cargo door, and even the 3rd row seat (stows and comes out). Navi, two DVD rear screens -- I'm actually really impressed. Really your perfect family car. I hesitated that it was a VW, but was happy to find out it's a Chrysler (that just felt weird even typing that).

I couldn't decide on whether to trade-in or not, nor was I ready (need to part out if so). After some thought, I decided I'll sell at least the FX45 and maybe even the BMW.

I'll start a part-out thread when I'm ready. Handy_Andy has first dibs due to him being kind enough to take the time to part-out my car for me.

Really sad to see the FX45 go, but just another chapter in my life. Going from 24's to 17's.

Glad to see you found something you like Ed. Compromises are a part of life and we are in a constant state of adjusting to it. I'm in shock that you are selling the 45 over the BMW though. :eek.:

BMW might go too, haven't decided. FX has more value than the BMW (WTF?) -- not according to KBB, but when I went around and got trade-in quotes, the FX (with me telling them I'm returning it to stock) was valued higher.

If both cars go and we're left with the minivan, when I need another car -- there are a lot of Infiniti's to choose from (and one Nissan... GTR) =)

It's a sad day to see this news. But congrats on the new ride and for new adventures. I'm sure Logan has dibs on the VK.

I know the feeling Ed.......

BTW what does RSE stand for?

Wow, sorry to see it go, but sometimes life makes the tough decisions easy. If you end up parting out, we should talk about your GT Spec braces. Maybe we can work out a package deal. :)

You're all a bunch of vultures! :mask: :hahaha:

Actually Ed, let me talk to my coworker. He has been dying to get an FX for a long time now. I convinced him not to get a 45 because he drives so much and will spend a fortune in gas, compared to his Camry. But if he had an opportunity to purchase yours, I think he would take it.

Wow for a moment there i thought you were joking. Hoped you were joking.......
Dang good luck with all the trade in and all

I got the news from Ed at 10:19 AM yesterday. I was almost sh!t in my pant that he ask me if I have time return his FX45 to stock. I read it again and no chance BMW can be typo so bad that read as FX45. I was so shock that you decided to trade the FX45 instead of the BMW. I'm totally shock that the FX45 has more value then the BMW though. Now that knowing you're also considering get rid of the BMW, plus the fact that you don't need a car to work everyday, it make a little bit of sense :smile (2): My kids loves the minivan, there are many times that they have to wait in the car for me or my wife, they take off their seat belt and hop from seat to seat and made an adventure out of it :smile (2): Just last night while waiting in the parking lot, all three manage to squeeze into the front seat and the center console had a blast YouTubing dumbest things on wheel on a tablet. When my wife comes back to the minivan, they were all disappointed that they have to breakup the "party". With one kid, any car can do just fine, but when you have two or more, a minivan is the only family car. Plus with a minivan, the kids can stand up and stretch their feet much easier too; well unless one of yours grew to be 5 feet tall by 6/7 years old. Those power sliding doors and power hatch is great. Not to mention 2 DVD. I know you will report back how much your wife loves the minivan. From that pic, your wife is really happy about the purchase. She has a bigger smile on then you Ed.
I know that feeling to the dad, it just a minivan!

I know you don't like private party sale, but consider a member's offer so the legendary FX45 can lives on this forum might not be a bad idea. Who ever get the keys to your FX45 gonna have a big smile on their face too considering how much care you have put into it.

Good luck with the new adventure and a new chapter in your family.
