cant decided on if i want h techs or s techs. i want the more aggressive drop of s techs but dont want the camber issues. cant decide. any help is appreciated.

I have h techs and had them on for over a year. I never did an alignment since I rarely drive this car. I thought the drop was enough for my needs.

cool thanks for the responses guys. I ended up going w/ the s techs. been about 5 days so far. prob hasn't settled fully yet. the negative camber was about 1.5 all the way around. will prob end up getting some front and rear camber bolts in the future.

Because you have a 1.5" drop or lower i would tell you to spend a little more money and get new camber arms for the front.

Here is a pic of me drilling the arms for the camber bolts:

Here is the info for the bolts:

This was done with H-Tech springs.

Hope this helps.

If you want it to settle fast put 5 heavy people in the car and take a nice drive on the highway.

Don't forget having a full tank of gas will make the car lower too.

Thanks for the info. I saw your pics on the other forums. The holes that you drilled out are the part of the arm that are closest to the engine, correct? not the bolt that goes to the knuckle? essentially your enlarging the holes so the whole arm assembly can move in and out to adjust camber? I just want to make sure im understanding the mechanics of it before I buy the bolts.

in otherwords, if the control arm is a wishbone shape, you have to drill out both holes at the end of the wishbone, not the top of the wishbone. correct?

As you can see by the pic the bolts are machined smaller which gives you some room for camber. To get more room you must drill both sleeves. When installing the arms back in to the car you must pull the arms all the way out to get max camber.

This is why I say if your going with a drop of 1.5" or more it's best to get the adjustable arms, price diff is about $100.

price diff is about $100.

links to said arms please?? most of the ones I see are about 350. so price difference would be 200! if indeed price difference is 100, w/ my drop, def more worthwhile to get fully adjustable arms, but im on a budget mod. didnt even want to get wheels, but got them for cheap, then "forced" to drop to make it look good. hahah.

As you can see they are listed at $228 with free shipping. This would be $75 more than the bolts.

Pics of the arms may be different.

I would call thmotorsport and get all the info I can before buying.

yea the link you posted was the 72280 which is the extended adjustability rear arm. the front arms cheapest I can find is 350 or so.

anyways, main point is, how much adjustment did you get w/ just the bolts and drilling some of the bushing? im only at about 1.5 deg. neg camber as it is.

The rears I plan on just going w/ the bolts b/c spc/eibach list those at 2 deg. adjustment for camber.

just trying to pin down an economical but effective solution for the front camber.

At the time I installed the front camber bolts I also installed the H-Tech springs which have a nice wild drop (nothing big). I had a 1 finger gap between the tire & fender lip at all 4 corners.

Alignment came out to spec with the oem 18" wheels, exactly what I needed.

But Know That I have D2 Racing coilovers I would rather have the adjustable arms, as I'm riding pretty low now.

Anything lower than 1.5" should have the arms installed. You could only get so much from the bolts.

These website have the wrong pics & prices for the wrong part #.

I have heard a few other people say that they paid $250 + shipping for the front arms, it's better than $400 for the same part with the only difference being it has the Eibach name.

Ride looks good! What are you using for camber measurements?

thanks for the response. I think i will just go w/ the bolts front and back. I dont think i need too much adjustment for my setup, as I am just barely out of spec.

I measured the camber on a laser alignment rack. I will go back and get realigned when i get the bolts installed.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I'd reopen this on. Camber kits, I've searched the web and I yield nothing thus far. Does anyone know, if anyone makes custom camber kits or if the previous generation M's camber kits fit the 2011+ M56. Any info anybody could provide would be greatly appreciated.
