Botched Factory Tint ?

Anyone had issue with air bubbles on Factory Tint ? I just noticed on my new FX there is tons of tiny air bubbles on the rear glass and quite a few on the rear windows too. Anyone had this issue ? Is Infinity even going to look at this ? It looks like the car had a cheapo tint job, I thought factory tinting used a different process that was virtually fault free ? Ugh... I'm beginning to think my new FX is cursed.
 
If I remember correctly, factory tint is in the glass. (Zoolander, btw)

Sounds like you have aftermarket tint, possibly.

Infiniti probably won't aftermarket tint unless they did it and have a warranty.

It's factory tint as in: it came with the new car, how it was done I have no idea, but it doesn't look well done.
 
Can you post some pics? If it's in the glass, then they should warranty it.
 
Post some pictures.

Factory tint from Infiniti is imbedded in between the glass. It's impossible to have bubbles unless it was an aftermarket job done by the dealer before you got the car.
 
Dealer must had tinted when the car was new on the lot because it makes the car look a hell of a lot better for minimal costs and sounds like they had a high school student put the tint on or do it fast because try were doing a ton of cars
 
That looks like aftermarket tint but I could be wrong. If you look closely you can see a piece of dust under the tint where the bubble is thus causing a bubble. Looks aftermarket to me. This happens when someone uses a shitty tint guy that doesn't clean the glass properly before applying the tint or working in a dirty environment.

No the dealer did. Infiniti doesn't use film.
 
I know that's exactly how it looks but it came with the car NEW from factory, the car had 22 miles on it when I picked it up....

I thought all FX comes pre-tinted from the factory already don't they ? Have you ever see non-tinted FX35 ?

It doesn't matter if it was new with 0 miles or 1000 miles. As soon as a car gets off the delivery truck in the dealers lot they start adding crap on to things sometimes.

My local dealer has a habit of adding extra chrome to the brand new cars then charging clients for that crap.

Why would a dealer go for the extra cost of tinting windows that are already factory tinted ? It doesn't make sense. Dealers usually like to cut costs not add extra costs for themselves.

They will do anything to make a sale. Obviously you bought the car.

Dude, anyone buying an FX35 knows that they are already tinted. I didn't even see the car until I took the delivery of it, and of course it looked like any other factory FX35 on the lot. I seriously doubt dealer would re-tint over factory tint, that makes no sense at all. I will call them tomorrow and then Infiniti. This actually looks much worse in person than it looks in the pic. When you take delivery of the car, you are not going to check if the factory tinting is good or not , you assume it's in the glass. I just noticed this today after I gave it a nice wash :(
 
Oh they charged you for it one way or another...

Take it back to the dealer. You got screwed.

Let's just say if it is the factory glass issue which I doubt I wouldn't even bother with it because that means they would have to replace the whole factory back glass which involves cutting it out and maybe some other problems when they have to remove all the interior trim on the trunk door to remove the defroster connector and wiper blade. A brand new car I would just leave it alone but that's just me bro.


i would be pissed if I bought a brand new car and it had to be torn apart that early.

How about if they just give me a new car then ? I will get to them bottom of this and update. Grrrrr
 
Look at the window sticker. I know my dealer often adds tinting all around since it doesn't come on the front windows stock. The add-on and pricing appears on the window sticker and is added to the price.

There was no sticker , and the price was lowest out of any dealer I could find, there was no mention of any added tint or anything like that. The front windows were not tinted as per factory. Well, we'll find out tomorrow I guess.
