Black ink :: 2006 Infiniti FX35

hey, nice wheels. i've always had my eyes on them, they look really good on your fx. did you go staggered? are you awd? are those high offset? i know i ask a lot of question but im just curious. lol

Thank you. Ya, I did go staggered 10.5 rear 9 front. My problem is that the rims were from my BMW so it had a great offset(40r,38f) but wrong bolt pattern. I ended up using adapters that basically put me 20mm offset back and 18 front. I'm using 265/35 front and 305/30 rear and don't rub at all although my camber in the rear is pretty bad, if I straighten them up I will probably rub so I may need to shave 5mm off my rim mounting pad.

Thanks Matrixx, I have a few more things to do to it but time has been an elusive beast lately. Hopefully soon there will be more changes

Looks good....!! Realy love those wheels also. Clean car man, did you do anything on the rear fenders for rubbing or don't they rub at all...??

Thanks Raymond, I've always loved your car in general but especially your body kit. Your kit really brings out the aggressive nature of the car and looks BEAST!
I did have some rub in the rear but I just took a sledge hammer to it to fix it hahaha. Just some tapping of the lip to get it to sit flat on the inside just like everyone else has done and it is fine BUT my camber is still pretty bad. I have a camber kit to get the wheels in spec but I will have a rub issue when that gets put on. I'm debating shaving 5mm off of the wheel mount pad to get it to be perfect. If I didn't need those wheel adapters I would have no issues at all with the 305s. The front has no rub issues whatsoever.

Thanks for the compliment :top: Ok i did the same thing on the fenders as you except for the sledgehammer that is :wink (2):
I run also the 10.5 inch at the rear. Same brand so i belive you also have the offset +40. Now i choose the 285's as they
would stretch a bit more. That gave me room to even mount some 10mm spacers and think i will even try to go for some 15mm when i'm done with my build. 305's will bulg a bit more. I wanted to go for as we call it here the "german-Style" where your wheels are running straight with your fenders or sticking a bit out even,but your tyres are inside the fenders. That way if you look behind the car the whole line of the fenders run further in to the wheels.
Have to admit that i am that low on my BC set. wanted to lett it settle in a bit more before figgling with it. No daily driver for me so that took a while
and now the whole thing is apart :eek.:
I really like the +300 tyres.....if i couls sell my wheels i would defenitly go 300+ but then would also choose to go for 11.5 or even 12 inch width. We have the room for that at the rear i believe.

Do you have any issues with your bottom clearance due to your ride height...??

Cheers Ray.

No sir, no issues with clearance under the car but i don't have a super cool body kit either hahaha. I still could drop the car a little bit more on the BC's as of now, just the camber issue that is annoying me and holding me back right now.
My offset is indeed the same as yours except I am running a 19mm "spacer" (adapter) right now and it's a perfect fit if I didn't use the car as a daily driver and have to worry about tire life. If you stick with the 285 tire and don't plan on installing a camber kit then I honestly believe you could get away with a 25mm spacer without a problem, if not i know that Turbo is running a 12 inch rim in the rear and with the proper offset you could get a 305 to tuck and still have the stretched look with the rim flushed to the fender(that trend is hugely popular in Hawaii too right now)

I don't remember where I got them from cause I ended up getting them around 5 years ago for my BMW. I do know that at the time there was a company selling these rims from NYC on ebay for cheap, just the shipping all the way to Hawaii was crazy. The rims are Giovanna Dalar 5. Problem is that they stopped making the rims like mine and are now making the 5v. The 5v doesn't have the same offsets that the originals had. I'm fairly sure you can find some companies with the originals still in stock but you might be kinda limited in what you find. I liked the way they looked so much (as opposed to the newer version) I kept the rims and used adapters to fit them to the FX. They are definitely more original than most rims on cars now days and give a deep dish look to the back without actually having any lip at all. Good luck with the search!
