The Z pattern is way better than ordinary straight cross link cables for traction and they put a secondary conection link on inside so you can put them on without driving onto them. They are the easiest snow cables to put on as well. Don't go with the cheaper cables because they fit much looser and break much easier and when they do break your fenders will get thrashed! These will outlast the other types of cables 10 to 1 if not longer.

NEW! Super Z6 for cars, pickup & SUVs

Finally, there’s a winter traction aid designed to work with today’s larger wheel and tire combinations. The Super Z6 requires only 6.3 mm (1/4") of operating space in the critical inner sidewall area of the tire--less than half the space needed by most cable chains or tire chains. The Super Z6 is available to fit passenger car, pick-up and SUV tire sizes.
  • Built-in rubber tightener means you don't need to stop and retighten after installation.
  • Low potential for damage to body and mechanical components, even when abused.
  • Exceeds S.A.E. Class S clearance requirements.
  • Chain tighteners (included) must be used with the Super Z6.

Your welcome. You will probably never have to use them being AWD good to have them though especially if you get checked for chains at checkpoint as you are required to have them in vehicle by law even if not needed. I have a brand new set of these also and hope to never have to use them. My FX tracks great in the snow even with the 265/40/22's on it. The only time I would use the chains would be under a R-3
chain restriction (all vehicles even 4wd must have chains on). It's very rare that we go to R-3 up here and I would try to avoid going out in it then.:tup:

Yup just like the ones I got!:tup:
Looking good--That bottom clip looks a little close to rim might need to adjust that.
Really easy to put on aren't they?

yea, they were super easy to put on. that was just a test run but i'll have to be careful with those clips when i actually use them. it's funny seeing 22's with chains.

Wow winter slippers--You gettin some Carlos if so I want to see those in action myself. They don't seem like they would work in wet heavy snow like we get here.

Well I do get up to Lake Arrowhead, so if I do I think I might. It say's it's for snow and slippery surfaces. They are so easy to install. Did you get the chance to look at the video? Too bad they don't come in black.

Yup I watched it looks pretty cool but I'm still skeptical--Would have to see or try them in action myself to be convinced.

Hey MTN_FX, I don't see those SCC-Z chains in my tire size of 305/35/22 do you think the 285/35/22 will fit? Are these chains stretchable? And do you think the wheel protection good enough? I don't see any mention of the wheel protection.
