Anyone got some insight on what the best bolt on mod judged by your own ass in the seat is for the FX45? I noticed there really are not that many mods for the 45 out there. I came from a BMW M3 that ended up supercharged but I can recall the best mod I could ACTUALLY feel was when I eliminated my cats with a a straight pipe... I am looking to do a few things to my 45 but just trying to get a feel for where to start... Gonna need new brakes so a BBK will prob be first but I would love to get a little more HP out of her as well...

Breather mods first. Do a better fee flowing exhaust and intake then follow them up with a dyno tune, you'll be pleased with the results. You can also do the e-fan mod. You should be able to do all this for under $2,200.00 After that you start to look at porting and TB work......

^ What he said. Intake and exhaust will be the ones where you'll get the most instant gratification. I've done just about everything one can do to the VK45. I thought about a custom supercharger at one point because I know a shop that can build one. :ninja:

What he said ^ :smile (2): We talking like a CAI, something custom DIY type or is there a certain brand out there that gets the best results?

As far as exhaust goes, is there a particular brand guys are getting the best results from? I like the stock sound, wouldn't mind a little throatier sound but don't want to get crazy with it.. But def. wanna get the best gains if I am going to spend the money..

Thanks for the Input guys! Looking forward to getting a start on this baby!!

Is this shop in the Chicago land?

Along with intake and exhaust, think about a shift kit. The shift kit has zero affect on a conventional dyno, but usually produces a high number of smiles on the butt dyno.

Well, after dumping around $50k into my M3 back in the day I would def. like to stay well under that lol... I could have just bought something faster with all that money spent..

Thanks everyone for the input.. I'm gonna need brakes first so naturally my first thought is a brake upgrade.. BBK Thoughts/brands?

Also Plan on ordering exhaust first of the year.. Stillen my best option?

I think I'm the only one with the Kido BBK here. Not a bad setup and price either. All around the same ballpark price-wise depending on what options you chose. But for now,my opinion is to spend your money on exhaust, intake, e-fan mod before you dive in BBK territory.
