BC coilovers

Whats Up guys. I got a question for those who have bc coilover. I installed mine yesterday running good and smooth. This morning took my car to work and heard clunking noises as if it was hitting the hood or something metal. So I checked it out couldn't find nothing. So I was thinking it was my end links. It didn't make sense to me cause this sound sounded worse like I said hitting metal. So I take a look again and saw that knob where you can adjust the ride quality soft or hard on the right handnside in the front the knob just came of and that nut underneath itnwas really loose. Tightened it up bit it got loose again. Is this a defect in the material or should I tight it down with a torque wrench. If so how many pounds of torque. Anyone else have this issue. It wasnt my fault obviously I wouldn't have expected that to happen as bc is responsible for this. Luckily I didn't hit andy huge potholes or bumps and it didn't fall out of place otherwise my car woulda been done. Thanks for the help

this very common with coilovers, i tightened mine it came loose again, applied blue loctite and now its perfect, megans and bc's same shitty problems

also did you check the rings are tight on the bottom??

under the adjusting knob there os a 17 or 19mm nut where the allen key be, check to see if thats loose

Under the adjusting knob u referring to the one in the engine bay correct to make the ride hard or soft if so that the one I'm talking about that was loose only on one side. Tightened it up now it doesn't make that noise anymore. So theres no defect in the product it just had to be tightened correct

1st check under the knob, the 17mm nut and hold it down with the hex and see if its tight
2nd Yes i applied loctite on the 17mm nut bolt and the one under the knob 14mm wrench (the one you set the dampening setting from soft to hard).
3rd their are 3 rings located under your car on the coilover, where you afjust height, those have to be tight as well

Those rings underneath that adjust the height are tight. It was just the one 14mm screw in the engine bay. So far so good no more noise. Should i call bc racing up to get a replacement or it's good

i do to sometimes, if ur bolts are torqued right, check ur sway bar links if their loose. Also FX is known for their fender bolts loosening up, there is a tb somewhere. Last if none of those helped you need to take ur ccoilovers off ir car, open them dissasseble and you need to grease 3 different places.

Anyone get any creaking noises from there coils. I hear creaking noises rear left

I'm not sure if it's exactly a creaking noise but I definitley experience some sort of noise coming from my front coilovers when I go over speed bumps for example. I don't hear anything from the rears though. I've had my BC's on now for a few months and it's not going away either. It's annoying cuz I spent $$$ for these and I just expected more. :disapointed:

Bolts are tourqued right sway bar links were loose last time tightened them up checked them again and there fine. I'll look at the fender bolts but dnt the coils come with grease in them already. It is annoying to waste all this money and have this problem. Called bc they want a video of the noise. How am I suppose to do that when it only happens when I'm driving and hit bumps.

if you guya live in a wet climate, it will eventually creak. The only way to stop it is to grease it up. Another problem i can think off if the problem is coming from the fronts it might be one of ur springs are loose, shake it with ur hand does it have play? Hopefully its bad pillow ball bearings

Well it's been raining here a lot I also sprayed some silicone spray to waterproof it. I always clean my coils when I wash my car. I probably dried up the grease and its squeaking then. I'll check everything out but sucks for it to be 2 months old and this is happening

I had creaking in the rears when I had BCs too. The creaking was over bumps or going on a driveway with a curb. I just re-damped/reset the settings and the sound went away.

Did the noise ever come back on after you reset everything. Bc told me to do that tighten all the lock rings and put it back to factory preload cause the springs tend to get loose after they settle

Ok I just preloaded the coils again springs were loose and so were the lock rings. Retightened everything ride softness 20 up front 25 rear. Noise Is still there. Ride is still bouncy and the problem won't go away noticed I need to change my sway links the rubber is torn. Will this cause the noise I'm not to sure and need help these are becoming a headache and bc is no help

Did I evEr ask oh noes. Common you know the deal. I've been calling him for 4 days straight he never called me back I mean the kid is busy but he cannot take a 5 min break and call me. I'm done going there. The kid does great work though

the only for u to see if it does (sway link) turn ur wheel all the way to one end and go under andstart pulling and pushing the link for noise. It might be loose also, you will hear a clunk. Also if you can keep ur wheel straight and get under the car throught the wheel spokes try to end it and wiggle it

Well the rubber is ripped. But it just doesn't make sense to me it sounds like the spring though. Also gotta replace my rear lower driver side control arm cause the nut that is welded on stripped of and is loose I was able to tighten it a lil more by hand and it's still spinning will any of these parts cause the noise. Is it safe to run 20 soft up front and 25 rear in street with potholes and bumps.
