Automatic car wash bends front license plate

I took my QX-70 in for its first car wash at Costco and it bent my front license plate. I don't want to have to remove the license plate every time I take it to the car wash so I'm wondering if anyone has used a tilting license plate bracket so the p,ate can be tilted downward? Do you think that would prevent the car wash from bending my plate? Another alternative is a magnetic license plate frame that I can remove easily before a car wash instead of unscrewing the plates just to remove them.

Has anyone had their plate bent in a car wash?

FYI: Yes, I know many people don't like car washes due to what they can do to the finish but that's not the topic of this thread.

It is very illegal here in Ontario. Cops will rip you a new one if you're caught with license plate brackets like that.. I know cuz I've asked a cop (was gonna do it on my bike)..

If you're worried about what modifications are "illegal" you might as well drive stock , cops will find a problem with any modification

Do you think the Car Wash VS Front Plate will be regular battle?
Maybe it was a rare fluke. It might snag a wiper, antenna, or mirror down the line.

I already have the rear wiper, and roof antenna shaved. Mirrors pose a little bit of a safety risk, I think everyone should keep those. LOL

Yes! I have the same issue. I thought it was just an accident at first, so I replaced the plastic plate frame with a metal one. I went through a car wash today and it's bent again. I think those rotating brushes can get caught and bend the plate. It's not the best plate bracket design because it doesn't have the full back plate where you can secure the plate with all 4 screws.

I know this is pricey, but I may try this one.

I've resorted to hand washing my car. I fear with the QX70 it will happen again and id rather not take a chance.
