Apollo adjustable suspension revisited

Revisiting the Apollo suspension set up. Followed by a few other set ups we've tried along the way.

Kit was developed by Apollo suspensions in Taiwan. jimsbmw was very helpful when I set out to give it a shot. Using my fedex account number he shipped it to the US for me, and has sinced helped with a few replacement parts as well. Thanks again my friend.

Front set up installed



Rear set up installed.






First height test in the front. It dropped way further than we thought it would.




After a few tries with positions. Our conclusion was

Front could drop very very far due to the adjustable position of the knuckle
Rear would not drop very far. We ended up removing the collar on the perch to drop it as low as it would go. Ended up with a nice raked stance.

Next up will be the HKS Hipermax S Style coilover system we tried, with an explanation as to how we even thought this thing would work.

Thanks guys. I try to document as much as I can and we've learned a lot about the FX configuration.

Here is side by side of the HKS and Apollo front assembly.



Toe kit is off the shelf and fits without any deviation from the installation instructions. Camber will need the extended bolts that are getting milled down. The Nismo Shop http://www.thenismoshop.com/ (West Covina Nissan) is where I've been getting some parts to place with.

About HKS Hipermax 　S Style

Hi, You are super super roookieee !!
Which car model's HKS Hipermax S style put your FX ?
HKS Hipermax S style is in japan only right ?
There is no Hipermax S style for FX in Japan.
Please teach me !

I'm pretty sure the S Style is only in Japan. There are some unknown facts about what our FX is built on and what platform it shares many many many similarities to. Where are you located?

I'm waiting to get my FX back. Will have more pictures and info on the suspension stuff.

I am Japanese in L.A so I thought i can get that suspension from japan.
I know one of japanese company made Adjustable suspention for FX in Japan.
But the suspention is over $3000. Too expensive !!
So if some of S style suspention work for FX, I really wanna get from japan.
Did you put Murano's S style on your FX ?

impressive for them to do all that with less support than we have here. The suspension is no doubt an adapted Murano aftermarket kit, since that is the only FM chassis vehicle to share the same suspension configuration as our FX.
