Anyone know a place locally to get my brake calipers painted?

if you really want that look, diy wouldn't be too difficult.

it should involve: remove wheels, clean calipers, prep them for paint, rattle-can a few coats with high temp caliper paint. wait and check the results.

if you are willing to pay a pro paint shop, I can recommend you Turbocad since he's in bklyn. (if he's not too busy on his own projects) :smile (2):

Take a road trip to Queens. I had mine done at Speedworld, but Queens Blvd. They uses paint designed for heat operation.

They still sure do. The guys there are crazy. Mike, the owner s an avid tuner. He did the gun metal-silver look on his Merc AMG coupe using high quality vinyl, Turbo, BBK and lots more. I find him easy to deal with and very reliable.

If your looking for a set of Akebono's I'll probably be listing mine in a week or so. I bought a set off a guy that parted out a G37s, he only had 3 of them 1 front and two rear. I was planning on buying a brand new front along with new brake pads and rotors but I can't be spending any more money on the FX at the moment. Planning on buying a house at the end of this yr so that's more important to me. I'll probably list them for $500 if your interested. They have all the hardware, brake pads and clips. Here's a pic of them. I don't have the rotors because I planned on buying new ones anyway.

You might be better off selling this set to a G owner. FXers would have to get FX specific rear rotors in addition.

Thanks for all of the input. I may not do it all. I agree it might look a bit cheesy. I have red brakes on my C63 and my wife loves the way they look so I told her I would do it on her car as well. I used to work out in Garden City and I know there is a place out on Long Island called Al's Hubcaps. They were painting a Q7's brakes the last time I was there. I may give them a shot...

Jmess86 I'll take your brakes and everything that's included.

Alright. Mods should I take pictures and post under classifieds section with username + date with pictures or do a local transaction?
I have 3 calipers ( both rears and the passenger front) sorry no rotors because I was planning on buying new ones.
