so i can't bear the steering wheel shaking anymore.. i have 20mm v2 ichiba spacers on all fours.. rotated all tires, flipped and rebalanced all four (no road force balance done), checked and torqued spacers and still the shaking persists on 60mph-70mph.. it goes away at 80mph ( none at 90mph-120mph :smile (2): ).. now i can't be driving 80++ mph all the time, so i took off the fronts but kept the rears on (vibration is gone).. any cons? awd but i know that it becomes rwd biased after 30 or 40mph.. never had this problem on my g35 coupe before ( i had 20mm on all fours as well).. i have stock 20's.. lowered on h&r..

WOW I have the same problem, same set up, tried the same solutions, same springs, different year FX (2012 FX50S)...I'm going insane...the only solution that I've come up with is that the spacers and wheels need Hub Rings. I'm getting new rotors and brake pads next week so I've been waiting, but this is the only solution I have left...I've tried it all like you have...

the v2 ichiba has hub rings.. i'm competely stumped as well.. can't be the rotors since there is no shaking while braking.. btw the only shaking i saw at 110mph was my wife on the passenger seat..

you dont hubrings the spacers are hubcentric, next are we talking about oe wheels or aftermarket? and final you might want to clean your hub lip really well it might have rust or something and it might not be sitting on it flushly, check your inner part of the wheels, sand it lightly to get rid of rust or debris and reinstall it again

Mine are stock 21's...powdercoated, but stock...they were powdercoated within a month of me getting the car...should be no rust...but I can check when I get the brakes done...

I'm running Ichiba V2 spacers on the back of my FX50 with stock wheels and it's nice and smooth.
Are your V2 spacers ordered with the center ring for Infinitis which should be 66.1mm. They do come in other sizes.

I also ran the same spacers on my FX35 with aftermarket wheels and I had to use extra hub centric rings to fit the aftermarket wheels. They also ran very smooth.

I had this same problem and the only thing that fixed it was to do a roadforce balance. I did a regular balance 4 times before I did a roadforce balance and the steering still shook but the roadforce corrected it :)

oem 20's.. checked and cleaned all hubs... inner part of wheels as well.. might do the roadforce balance.. although i've been getting mixed feedback on doing this..

do you have spacers installed as well? wondering if roadforce corrected the vibration.. i also did the steering rack adjustment..

do you have spacers in the front as well? or just kept the rears like mine (for now).. just checked the box, it says center ring is 66.. but it is for the nissan/infiniti..

I'm just running them on the rears, I like a staggered look.
You have the right ones if it says for Nissan/Infiniti which is 66.1 mm, as long as you are running OEM wheels or wheels with the same center bore.

i just finished removing and cleaning booth spacer in the rear just now( thank god for power tools, took me 10 mins per side ).. checked the hub centric ring to see if there is a wiggle in the rims.. nope.. 66mm and fits perfect.. also checked for rust and found none on both hubs and wheels.. but just to make sure went ahead and did a quick pass with a steel brush.. i'm assuming my fronts are clean as well.. anyway, running just rears for now.. yeah i see the staggered look only because of the fender gap in the front..

ive been running 25mm rear spacers on mine for a while and no spacers up front. Youll get use to it lol. You might have a wheel bearing problem the spacers might be putting too much stress on them

Yes I have spacers both front and back and as soon as I put them on my steering wheel started shaking and when I took them off it would stop. I did multiple regular balances with no luck but the roadforce fixed the problem completely for me.

Hey fellas, any update on this? Looking to take the plunge into the world of Ichiba V2 spacers for our 2012. Any recommendations on size? 17? 20? 22? Anyone out there completely against spacers? I'll probably just do the rears. I hate how much the rear wheels look tucked in and want to rectify that but not at the expense of constant road vibrations or the slim chance of the wheels falling off!

Chris, I'm running 15 Ichiba on the rear and they are nice and smooth. These are the ones I ran on my 09, now I have them with my 21's.
I think 20 or 25 in the rear should be perfect.

Thanks so much! I remember you PMing me that information. Getting the mod itch. Gonna have to scratch it somehow. Spacers will have to do for now...

Spacers don't cause the vibration, they just exacerbate an existing issue. I had the vibration for a while as soon as I put on aftermarket 22"s. It was there before any spacers. The steering wheel fix helped a little, new tires helped a little. But what actually fixed it was having the wheels balanced by a more competent shop. Now there's been no vibration even with a 15mm spacer in front.

A lot of things cause the vibration, the FX is just really sensitive.
