dont know what grunt is. i just cleaned with soap and water, then a prep wipe

Sorry for my english ( I am russian) I meant a special painting that gives better "traction" of the paint with the surface!

well i used a sandblaster to take all the chrome off so i was painting bare plastic. then i used duplicolor sandable primer, then the lacquer. not sure how you would go about painting over the chrome. probably the same way i supposed.
