Hello tsfxers. Was wondering if anyone can recommend an alignment place in nyc, or anywhere close in Jersey. Preferablely closer to Staten island. I was going to go to Firestone to get the lifetime alignment but they wouldn't touch the car since its lowered. Wheel concepts in SI is my second choice ($90) but wanted to shop around first. Thanks :)

Wow, I'm surprised Firestone won't touch your car. They did it to mine when I had coils and 22"s on last summer. Maybe try another Firestone because hey don't have the right ramp/machine? I have to go to specific Firestones, not just any.

Didn't have any problem with Firestone around my area neither. $90 is pretty much the going price for 4 wheel alignment.

Contact CamberToe (lmao) I know I know:

They always have some sweet cars in the shop. They did an alignment on my FX a couple of months ago for $85. Good people and vendors on the BMW forums. They know their shit and only use high end hunter equipment.

I did mine in CNM Automotive in Queens. 7801 51st Ave, 11373, Elmhurst, New York. Tel. 718 803 8826

do you guys do a 4-wheel alignment at the dealer or other shops with our FXs. It's been mentioned that the FXs come with a slight negative camber from factory. I'm thinking if taken somewhere not at a dealer they would make it balanced perfect instead of how from factory.

Jonas, they all should go by the same Factory specs.

Just for your info, here are the camber specs in degrees for the 2nd Gen FX35 AWD from the Service Manual.

Rear Camber
Minimum -1.66
Nominal -1.16
Maximum -0.67

Front Camber
Minimum -1.08
Nominal -0.30
Maximum 0.41

I did my alignment on the FX fairly recently and I took it to Sears. Sears had a new machine where the sensors are mounted on the wheels using a strap instead of those traditional metal spike thingies. I thought that was really cool since it eliminates all possibility of wheels being scratched during the process.

Lifetime alignment bought at firestone!!!!
For 200

How does this look to you guys?
I really have no clue what its saying
I asked the guy and he said its good!!!!

Realized proper alignment is crucial
I had been running lowered without alignment due to settle in period plus laziness for about 6 month.

Car felt wobbly and all over the place ....... Just thought it was bad tires which i knew . But with the recent alignment change.... She rides so much smoother and firmer !!! Great

So which one was before and which one was after? On one, the toe looks better, but there is more negative camber. On the other, it's slightly less camber, but toe looks out of spec. Honestly it doesn't look like much difference between either version.

Oh man that sucks the first is the new one after alignment second is the one after

Here is the photo of the after photoy3ajevyd.jpg

I bought the life time alignment so do you think i should go back and get it aligned properly again?

What should be the spec that i should be looking for

I wouldn't go back unless you had camber bolts for the rear. I'm assuming you're dropped on springs? Without the camber bolts, they won't be able to get the rear camber any better than that and there is very little adjustment on the front unless you have coilovers and camber plates. It's actually fine. The toe is in spec both front and rear which is a bigger issue in terms of tire wear and handling. They probably adjusted the toe and that changed your camber a little bit.

You can pick up from ebay the SPC camber correction kit. They are inexpensive. Like what shadow said, trying to bring the camber to spec without camber bolts is useless. I would rather be off camber by a small fraction rather than having a toe off issue. Toes off spec can cause more wear and damage on your tire and suspension than an off camber.

Ok guys thank you
Yes iam dropped on hnr springs

So basically for reg daily driving i should be fine right now right ? Thank you aagain!!

You are absolutely fine. Your camber specs are barely outside the range and your toe is in spec. I drove on H&R's for 2 years w/ the fronts cut and rears lowered on spring mount mod. No excess tire wear issues. I'm even lower now on coilovers and still no issues. I don't run a camber kit, I just make sure they keep the toe in range.

Nice thank you i have old tires right now but will be getting a new one in the spring ..... Do nit want to mess up the new ones .....

You should be fine. I am running with a camber slightly off to factory specs since I installed BC coilovers. The degree of my camber off from factory spec is negligible but the toes are adjusted up to spec. I have no issues so far and am not showing any uneven tire wear.
