hey :iS:

Did a little research thanks to an eBay item chedman brought to my attention

XYZ Suspension of America,
Part of XYZ Racing
now has coilovers available for the 09+ FX35/FX50

Theyre a pretty well known company in Europe....sponsor Alfa Romeo in the WTCC, and have been around for over a decade...and claim to make products for many well-known companies in Japan, the US, and Europe as well...

Information:

Top mount
In XYZ standard design on shock absorbers in Super Sport (SS), all McPherson struts come with pillow ball upper mounts and Wishbone struts are equipped with aluminum top mounts. The pillowball top mount or aluminum top mount is not available for a few certain applications due to the OE upper mount with no holes on it.
PS) The pillow ball top mount is able to adjust camber degree, and to increases stability and handling of your vehicle by 10%. However, the pillow ball might be prone to creating slight amount of noise over big bumps, and this does not cover any warranty.

Mono-tube design
Mono-tube design is adopted for this coilover system as it can retain stable damping and have varieties of response to uneven roads and bumps to keep the comfort. The super sport damper with big piston diameter of 45mm can be used for weekend race as well.

i3.gif
Fully-adjustable lower mount
A moveable bottom mount is adopted; both ride-height and pre-load can be adjusted by adjusting the bottom mount. Use of aluminum material enables to reduce weight.

i4.gif
Damping adjustable
Super sport damper has 30-way damping settings to bring the best performance for different road conditions. The shock uses needle valve to have linear damping adjustment at each level.

i5.gif
Anti-rust
All threaded parts are coated with Fluorine to prevent corrosion or adherence. A bottom mount is anodized.

i6.gif
Coil spring
99% applications come with pillow ball upper mount to enable you to experience the driving feel directly. Super Sport damper is equipped with the springs that have the most perfect spring rates.

i7.gif
Aluminum bottom mount
Lightweight aluminum bottom mount is used to reduce the weight and to have ability to dissipate heat.

Spring bearing
The piece put between the spring and the locking ring is Teflon bearing, it can eliminate strange noises and allow a vehicle to move more smoothly when turning.

-Fully adjustable
-custom spring rates: 8k-14k recommended
-no top camber plate, aluminum mount
-locking collar
-no custom colors as of yet (may change with increased demand)
-1yr warranty full coverage on the shocks ---- $50 for spring replacement

call to order

(does not state xyz namesake, but Manny confirmed he "knows the seller")

These are extremely tempting...so I may postpone my exterior mods and go for the coils sooner rather than later... They are currently moving production facilities so any orders direct will have a 1 month wait, while the other links I think have them in stock.

These look like a good buy....and the company is headquartered right outside of Philly!
I did some more research... XYZ Auto Parts is a Tiawan-based company, while XYZ Suspension of America is based in Philly.
I tried calling the XYZ Auto parts number, but it doesn't work. I sent an email also.
I spoke to Manny at XYZ Suspension of America (Philly) and did speak with him.
I also looked around the net and it appears for most automobile applications they use the same factory/design as d2 and k-sport...but those dont have any available for the 2nd gen FX's...but Manny said these are made and fit the 09+ FXs, and they have sold about 6 so far with no negative feedback.
So, maybe somebody (me?) should go for it just to see what happens...
This company is in the US so its not like youll have to battle a company in Tiawan if there is an issue.....
It just strikes me as wierd that there are NO OTHER 2ND GEN COILS besides these, which are arguably made at the same factory as others and re-branded/reworked to different specs...... I guess we will have to wait and see.
I offered to drive to their office for fitting but he said they "dont really do installs at that location" So idk...

Niceee. When are you getting them? =]~

Sent from my iPhone

Nothing is really going to happen until the summer haha...so then maybe

Already beat me to it haha. It is tempting but I don't know much about that company. I'd feel safe if someone ( jordan ) tries them out first

haha yeah, I get to be the test subject.... I have been doing some research on the company and updating my first post.

Someone pull the trigger and order these already! This could be a great thread for those down the road!

haha I want to badly but need to wait
: interesting!

Looks promising, but I don't like the issue with the noise.. JB, try it out and let us know.. You need to do all this stuff now while you're young, in school and have no responsibilities lol.. well at least no "other" worries.

---------------------------------

Also, have they addressed camber issues?

What noise? The pillow balls? They offer a cushion for them to reduce the noise.....
and hey! I have responsibilities, I need my car to get to work haha I cant have coils that are going to explode on me

My bro baught a pair for his integra when i got my TEIN's for my prelude and his XYZ never had a problem, no leaks, no squeaks for the 3 years he had the car, my TEIN's are still running strong after 5 years but i also payed twice the price... im sure you can arange a group buy to get a better price.

good to know

I was talking to him about a possible group buy

Turbocad was the first to spot coilovers:
///171288&postcount=39

My take on the situation:
///188185&postcount=6

Like Turbocad said...only one way to find out. So I am guessing you are going to be the testbed.

saw that earlier and forgot to reference, sorry.

It's not that. It's the fact that these things have no quality control IMO. But then again I could be wrong. They may be made to the same standards at the same factory as BC and Megan (just branded differently).

Other than the quality control issue, I would be skeptical that they actually tested it on an FX, so in essence you would be their testbed.

I dunno man. I know you drive hard so you would be a good testbed (on the street), but I don't want to hear anything happening because of some sort of suspension failure. Which is why I am skeptical.

If you really want them maybe Manny can hook you up wholesale, so that you can test them and report you observations to the FX forums:wink (2):

Yeah he said they would consider a group buy if it were 10 or more, but he also said he's sold some before and got no negative feedback (no way to prove this, obv) So Im going to call back again about the group buy and ask him to send me pictures of the FX-specific coilovers.
It wouldnt be the same as BC and Megan because apparently their factory is different than the D2 and K-sport coilovers, which the XYZ are usually associated. So idk, I'm still a little skeptical.

I didn't want to make a thread yet but I just found this on H&R's website http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?Mode=Application+Guide&SubMode=Find2&Year=2009&ModelID=220&q=2009%20|%20Infiniti%20|%20FX35 .. I just may be purchasing these. I'd love coil overs but I can't wait any longer. 1.3 drop front and 1.2 drop rear .. a little more than the eibachs

Yeah see if they actually have them in stock...theyve been listed but have been unavailable last time I remember....

I just talked to someone at http://store.allsprings.com/infiniti-fx35-hr-sport-springs-2009-p3065.aspx (local shop nearby) and their approx $250 from them but they aren't available yet :mad.: . I clicked a link on their site so they'll "notify me on availability". Def going to go through them the once they come out. About the same price as Eibach and a tiny bit more of a drop. Unless coil-overs are available ....

I paid much less for my Eibachs. Call H&R, they told me it would be summer at least before theirs are ready.

I know this doesn't fit the theme of this thread but I can't for the life of me figure out how to start one of my own, so....

Has anyone bought this brand of rotors and if so, are they any good or are they just cheap?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cros...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33661f92ca

thanks.
and if you can tell me how to create my own thread, i'd appreciate that too. and here i was thinking i'm computer savy.
