2IS :: 2009 Lexus IS250

Pat's 09 IS250

Hey All,

A few weeks ago, I traded my 2008 FX35 for a IS250. Decided to finally start a log to keep track of the :iS:'s progress :smile (2):

The FX:

More about the FX can be found here:https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=5693-Pat-s-Sapphire-FX

The IS:

Wasn't planning on modding the IS much until winter was over. However browsing forums can have its consequences...

Mods:

- First thing I did was replace the stock halogen bulbs with a HID kit. Luckily the car comes with projectors and I was able to reuse the DDM tuning kit from the FX :smile (2):

3 engine covers (not including the one that actually goes over the engine) had to come off in order to access the bulbs. Afterwards it was fairly simple - drill a 1 inch hole into the plastic doors in the headlights for the wires to fit through and run the rubber grommet to waterproof it. Last step.... plug and play.

Stock halogen on the left, 6k hid on the right. Its much whiter in person... this was taken when the bulbs first started up.

Next, found a killer deal on a Tanabe Medalion exhaust and Tein S Tech lowering springs.

The tanabe looks as if it hasn't been washed/polished in years:

Grabbed some super fine steel wool and a 18 year old can of mother's metal polish and got to work.

In progress:

All cleaned up:

Next up - Install the exhaust this weekend and hopefully the Tein S Tech lowering springs too. Ordered a Takeda intake but still in transit...

Thats all for now :smile (2):

nice pick-ups. so much for keeping that stock, haha... btw AWD?, winter is near.

I had an '06 IS350, only car I ever paid full sticker for. When they first came out, I went to the dealer to just look and somehow came out with a car. I had like the 100th one they sold in GA. I loved that car. And the Tein springs provide a nice drop. It put my fenders right at the tire. Ride was great too. I was literally about to order a Tanabe the week the car was totalled. So great start to the mods.

Nice! I'm pretty sure my first FX mods came about from a local guy selling his FX and offering me great deals also. Same springs you ended up with, and an STB.

Thanks all for the comments. I still find myself visiting infinitiscene more than the lexus forums :smile (2)::eatsleepis:

Yep, AWD. Thinking about getting some winter wheels.

Good to hear that the teins served you well, and sorry about your IS. Got any leftover parts to sell?

Any wheels planned?

Yep looking at rims. Most likely will go with something polished/machined. I'm open to suggestions :smile (2):

I think Vossen CV1 and CV2 would look really nice on your Lexus.
