2006 Infiniti G35 Metal on Metal Grinding Noise on Cold Start

Need help guys!! On a cold start in the morning I have this weird metal on metal grinding noise coming from the engine bay area. It only happens on a cold start for like 1 minute then goes away. And it doesn't do it on every cold start it just does it randomly. Maybe once every 1-2 weeks. Here is what it sounds like:

i was thinking I should t make too big of a deal about it since its very random on different cold start days.

I had this noise before and I changed the belts and that didnt fix it. This noise sounds like metal in metal.

some sort of pulley, from what it sounds like... worst case scenario water pump or tensioner by timing chain... maybe, i could be wrong.... you can grab a looooong flathead screwdriver and put it on the steering pump or ac compressor WITHOUT touching the pulley and put ur ear on it to hear if thats making the noise and start cancelling out where there's no noise.. this is one of those things i gotta be infront of to inspect

Thanks guys ill check the pulleys tomorrow.

i like this car though it runs good minus some few issues I've fixed. I can't expect it to be perfect since it is used and has near 100K miles.

Haven't even got a chance to listen to where its coming from. Since I've made this thread the noise hasn't popped up at all on cold starts for the past few days. It's one reason why I can't let a mechanic look at it because its just so random on a cold start and does it whenever it wants. They probably won't ever figure it out.

Im awaiting when it does it again so I can check with a mechanics ear I borrowed from my friend.

Sounds like the idler pulley to me. I removed mines.

Standing in front of ur car looking into the engine. The upper pass Side pulley. Check it out.

Or record a video with the hood open and focus on that pulley.
