I would have opted for 21’’ mags…but since you are keeping your almost new 20’’ tires it makes sense to shop for a fresh new 20’’ mags.
What I like about those Advanti is their narrower 10 spokes giving you a better view of your rotors/brakes (should you consider upgrading them for the looks) in addition, visually speaking it gives you the impression of a wider diameter wheel…

Check some other websites to help you in your search:

Thanks, appreciate the feedback guys! @FXMontreal, I'll definitely take a look on those sites!

I totally agree that 21's would be mint on this car, but yeah you hit it on the nose.. Dealership put brand new tires on; dont see the sense in flushing that value away if I sold them with the OEMs

Unless you are looking at the OEM 21's, Don't bother with 21" the tire selection sucks. I would look at 22" and forget about the 21's

^^ like Jeff says stay away from 21's because of tire selection. If you want to use your like new 20's the wheels you picked would be nice but I would go to 9.5 or 10" wide with your 20's
I had wheels something like what you want, but I wished I had gone wider. Here is a pic wit 20x8.5" wheels on my last FX, same color as yours, to give you an idea. In the second pic, I was lowered on Eibach springs.

@GEE50FX sharp looking ride, looks familiar! I think those wheels look great. How big of a difference would the wider wheels make? Was under the impression my 265/50R20 wouldnt stretch that wide, am I wrong?

I run 265/50 on my front wheels, which are 20x9.5, so no problem there. Those 10 spoke are nice, but they show a lot of rotor and caliper. Personally I would want some sort of BBK set up if I was running something that open, but that's just a personal taste thing. The Enkei GTC01's that Wayne used to run on his are very nice and light too.

Good to know about the tires, thanks! Im planning on painting my calipers (thinking blue at the moment..) and replacing my rotors w slotted and/or drilled once mine need replacement. One reason i like the visability the Advantis have

Do you notice a significant handling difference with the 9.5"?

@ Eothain - Do you think the extra width of the wheels is worth the extra weight that comes with it?

I really like the look of the Enkei GTC01's you suggested, but they're more than I can drop on wheels right now :at-wits-end:

great idea.. I know this looks like a third grader did it, but here's my attempt LOL

Also considering this other wheel: GWG Zero 20x8.5 35mm offset. About half as expensive as the Advanti's but theres just something about those ones (Advanti's) I really like..

Personally I like the wider wheels for a more aggressive stance. With more tire on the road you do have some increased handling on dry roads. One thing to consider if you drive in a lot of rain or snow is that more contact can mean more area for hydroplaning. I don't think the weight is a huge difference. The very best advice I can give you for looking for wheels is to have patience. As someone who just went through it, you will see a ton of options out there and you just have to research it and take your time. Quite often the wheel that first grabs your eye may not be the best one... Meaning I know a lot of folks that rush into it and then find something else they rather have had.

Thanks Eothain, good advice.. Would suck to have buyers remorse on such an important decision for the car's overall looks.. I'll probably wait until I get a buyer lined up for my current wheels and then pull the trigger

Yeah, I bought my FX in June and didnt finalize my wheels until January. Believe me, I wanted to wheels badly to replace my 18" stockers. Several months looking at the ugly ones was awful, but it paid off with me being completely happy with the ones I decided on and eventually found a great deal on. I considered 20, 21, 22's and all sorts of designs. My biggest problem is that looking through all the options, you can't ever really see them on the vehicle and to me, that's a big deal. Photoshops just didnt do it for me and I really hated the idea of buying something that could be so expensive without actually "seeing" the real deal.

Extra weight is negligible. But a wider wheel results in less tire squirm and better handling. I run 20x10.5" wheels right now.

Couldn't agree more! Up here in the North East we have a chain called TownFair Tire (91x in New England), they carry the Advanti's in their store, so I got the chance to go see these in person.. LOVE the look of this wheel..

Really just considering 20's, mainly so I can keep my new tires, but also I dont want to deal with the hassle of spacers, rubbing the wells, harsher ride, more expensive rubber etc that 22's would bring..

I run 20x10.5" wheels right now.

Must have great traction! Any issues in rain (i.e. hydroplaning)?

Greg,
I do love the clean looking GWG Zero…I assume you are not planning to have 2 sets of wheels/tires. So Keep in mind that in Quebec for a few years now it is the law to have dedicated winter tires from Dec 15[SUP]th[/SUP] to March 15[SUP]th[/SUP] and although it is a hassle and added cost I can really say that all season tires should be labeled as 3 season rather. Once the temperature falls below 7 Celsius (44 F) the compound and structure of any 4 season tire loses its adherence to the asphalt and reduce traction significantly especially when braking/accelerating once you feel the difference you will never go back especially with an AWD system good tires help the car’s traction so much better…

The Bridgestone is rated as fair for rain and light snow.

Should you consider 21 or 22 is really asking for trouble…plus purchase spaces, new tires, added cost and increased risk and stiffer ride. Just make sure you protect your 20’’ wheels once you detail your car with a ceramic coating like Cquartz/Opti Coat to protect them from the elements (salt, abrasives…etc.) and hope for the best
