Hello all! I am new to the forums and this is my first post. I need help. Does anyone know if the 20" wheels on an 08' FX35 will fit on a 08' EX35. I really want to replicate the 'STOCK" look of the illustration of the EX35 on the Home Screen of this website. From the illustration, they look like the 20's from an 08' FX35. I have contacted many Infiniti dealerships in my area and they cannot seem to give me a straight answer. Please help with some info. THANKS!

2008 FX35 20x8 40mm offset
2009 EX35 18x8 47mm offset
same bolt pattern5x114.3

There is a Outer Position: RETRACT by 7mm offset differance (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

Inner Clearance:7mm LESS (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)

It might hit the strut/brake assembly. (May need spacers)

You other concern is if the 20" wheel can fit around the wheel well. usually you can go +2 on the rim size.

The only way to really know is to try it.

Thanks for the reply themerchant. What I was planning on doing is buying 4 OEM 20" 08' FX wheels in hyper silver finish from Finish Line Wheels in Holland, MI and using those for my EX mod.

Treat me like a total newbie who knows nothing about cars. I have no clue what themerchant posted, but I will print it out and show it to someone who knows.

By the way, does anyone know of a shop in Houston, TX that will do this kind of work on my EX. Actually, I am willing to travel to have the vehicle worked on, so any shop that is dependable and trustworthy will do. Any suggetions??

7mm is not really that big of a difference if you ask me .. Also some of us has gone up to +4 on the rim size. Maybe some of our TX members can chime in, maybe test fit one of their stocks on your EX.

Basically the rims should fit based on the numbers.
As far as what Dave said, lowering would be ideal. Also you mention that you don't want to void your warranty. I have springs on my FX and it is still under factory warranty. Worse case is you remove and replace the stock springs before you get work done (never happened to me).
Because of your EX, I told my wife: "hypothetically, what if we traded our 05 FX in and the dealer actually paid it off so we can buy a new EX35... hmm" then I said no they wont do that (I now planted a seed:wink:).

Good luck modding your EX. We are all excited for you.

themerchant, if you love the ride of the FX, you will definitely love the EX. The Tech Package alone is worth the price. Keep working on persuading your wife to let you go with a new EX. She will definitely love it as well. Who knows, you might end up with two new EX's...

OK everyone. I went to the dealership where I bought my EX and talked to my salesman about what I wanted to do with the car. We took a walk over to the service garage and talked to the service manager. Considering they were not too busy today, he asked me to pull the car into one of the bays in the garage. He then lifted the EX and installed four 08' FX wheels in Hypersilver on the vehicle. Fits fine and looks SWEET! The only extra equipment needed are 5 mm spacers and maybe tires with a lower profile. Now there is another topic that is yet unsolved. I will post a new thread. Thanks to everyone for their input and comments.

the fx stock wheel diameter is like 30.4", from the ex tire size look up the diameter of the stock ex wheels & see how much smaller it is, might be 28 or so, you'll want to find a tire around the stock diameter for the ex

Good to know there is at least one interchangeable part from an FX to an EX.

Btw, shogun what model year FX and EX do you have? Can you add that info to your profile. Thanks.

I had a 2005 Infiniti FX35 which I traded-in for an 2008 Infiniti EX35. Best trade I ever did! I will post pics of my ride before and after mod as soon as it is finished. Right now, I'm just enjoying driving the EX around.

By the way, just for reference. I have an IPhone 3G and syncing it via Bluetooth to the EX was easy, but I could not transfer the phonebook/contacts to the Navigation System or have Caller ID. So, I went to the Infiniti EX website and looked at the compatible phones for Bluetooth sync. It turns out that one of the best phones to sync with the EX is the Nokia N75. This phone will work well with the Bluetooth on the EX. The only feature that this phone will not perform with the EX is call waiting. I can live without it - the other person calling can just leave a message. Anyway, my mobile service provider is AT&T and they are selling the Nokia N75 right now for $49.99. So I just added another line to my current plan which is $9.99 extra per month and switched to a Family Plan. Voila, now my EX has it's own phone number. The Nokia N75 is always left in the car and can be charged through the car charger.

In my opinion, it's the cheapest way to have a true car phone with it's own dedicated number...

Good to know and nice to hear how much you are enjoying the new EX. Personally the EX is too small a vehicle for me but I do luv the interior and some of its features. The only thing I would remotely consider trading in my FX for would be "godzilla" but I will be in one in a couple of years.

Is this monster you speak of also known by the name GTR? :2smile:

Btw, sh0gun, all you need to do is provide us with the stock EX tire size. Go to your EX and look at the size on the tire... maybe 245/40/18? 265/40/18?

I did the research for ya... the stock EX comes with 225/55/18's or 225/60/17's

The overall diameter is 27.7" for the 18's and 27.6" for the 17's.

A replacement size would be 245/40/20 for a perfect 27.7" replacement.

Let me know if you see something other than 225/55/18 or 225/60/17 on the side of your tires on the EX though.

I wish you were near me, I have a set of almost new 255/35/20 tires that would also fit that I'm getting rid of for about $40 a pop :embarrassed:

Thanks Cube, but I'm putting 20's on my EX. The tire that you have would be great and a good price, but like you said, we are really not that close geographically to make this transaction. Again, thanks for the offer. Hope you sell the tires.

Yep, I understand that. That's why I recommended the tires I have lol. They fit the stock 20's and have a tiny bit smaller overall diameter than your stockers do. I should have no problem selling them... as this tire size is pretty common for the many-a-dubs-wearin Chrysler 300's and Dodge Chargers and whatnot. Lots of hood mf'ers in my area pimpin them things out

Do us a favor and help us figure out what the stock tire size really is? Do you have the 18's? And is it 225/55/18?
