Looking at 08 from U.S. Need opinons pls!

Hello everyone,

Great forum so far (just signed up) been lurking reading alot of info.
I am on the hunt for a 2008 FX35 with tech, and black interior in the Southern Ontario region.
It will be my commute truck for work so would prefer low kms but I know these engines (my wife had an 02 max with high k and drove like a dream) so not to worried.
I have been on Autotrader every night and nada.
There is one at JP Motors that was imported from the U.S. and looks in good shape. (This is my first post so cant post urls) jpmotorsales.com Stock number 37512
The drivers seat has a few tears in it which kind of bothers me.
Im looking for opinions and your thoughts on it. I have read posts on what to look for but not sure about buying an American car here.

It seems this ride has everything but rear DVD. If I was looking for a 35, it would be on my short list.

DVD is not a deal breaker for me, with tablets and phones my daughter will be busy on long road trips lol.

I didn't look at this particular car, but I know that people in US keep better track of accidents and repairs and such. Or so it seemed when I was looking for my FX. Also it will depend where from US the vehicle is. Mine was from somewhere in California or Arizona, it escapes me now, but I knew it has never seen snow, or salt on the roads or anything like that so i wasn't worried about rust or too many rock chips. I got the vehicle 2 years ago, and that was the first time it has seen Canadian winter. Now it's riddled with rock chips and such but it's been driven for 60 000km of highway driving, with no issues I might add, so it was a good purchase.

I did track the report and it was bought in Miami, kept in Florida until 2011 when it was imported into Canada (Ontario)
So it has seen Canada winters, no biggie to me.
I've never bought a car from the U.S. so its good to hear you've had no issues.
I am going to see if I can take it out this weekend......

honestly if the carfax checks out and you take it for an inspection and it's all good, then you're good to go. I would rather buy a vehicle from US that has never seen snow (or a little of it) than a local car that's been driven in -40 Celsius cold and snowy conditions for 6 months out of the year
 
Hey, so I bought an 08 with a little higher KM but it is VERY clean came with a set of snows.

Yes they came with a set of winters. They are piled in my garage at the moment, will hold off until they call for serious snow. (Thank you global warming)
All in all I am happy with the purchase so far.
Drives so sweet lol
