dancing rear end

The problem starts 3 weeks ago. The rear end of my fx35 2005 goes side to side mostly when I whant to over pass another car. So on a acceleration and turning the the left. The rear goes left and right really bad. The same action but turning right does nothing.

I check all ball joint and bushing on the rear and the front suspension. End up changing: 2 rear wheel bearing, the 2 front tie rod end, all sway bar bushing and finally the steering rack.
The issue is still there. Now I'm tinking maybe something wrong whit the rear diff.

Any idea!?

Hope you did had an alignment done with all those new suspension part. If so, how many miles on you have on it? How are the rear shocks? Many of us change out struts and shocks at 60K mile interval or so.

Yes, a alignment was done. After a complete rear end inspection I found the alignment bolt to be at the end of the adjustment on the left side and in neutral position on the right side. I change the left alignment bolt torque it in neutral position.

Monday I got a new appointment for a complete alignment. Keep you inform.

So the dealership did not find anything. Body/suspension/direction all find.

Anybody got info on the drivetrain? Transfer case and rear diff. Can the rear diff trigger something like that?

I know this might not be it but have you checked where the wheels sit at the hub for corrossion? Like andy said it could be the rear shocks. They will deffinitely make the car dance while turning.

F the stealership. My rear end was once dancing too, they performed an alignment twice and the problem still persisted. They later blamed the wheel bearings. Take it to a well known mechanic and let him inspect the suspension well. I took mine to a local align shop and they fixed the issue (rear alignment was all messed up out of toe)

The dealers keep the truck for more test tomorrow.
All bushing from control arm sub frame have been check by me I'm a heavy truck mechanic.
What's messing my mind is the trouble appear suddenly. One day's everything is fine the next the rear end move right to left on bump or in a turn.
I hope I can get the anwser!!

Many of us change out the shocks around 60K miles interval because we feel it bounces too much and some instances sort of out of control. At 60K, most of those that replaces them doesn't show any sign of leaks as well. May want to consider if the dealer cannot pinpoint the problem you're experiencing.

This thread has been informative. My fx feels like it has the same problem being bouncy, mostly on the rear. So at 105000km (65k miles) i'm guessing I'll have to replace the front/rear shocks and springs. was hoping to avoid spending on OE stuff and upgrade to coilovers except I really want to find out if the front/rear camber kit will be developed (following a different thread for that: https://www.infinitiscene.com/searc...ear-control-arm-fix-for-toe-and-camber-issues)
Any additional tips is appreciated; and does anyone think having the front ladder and rear GTSpec braces would be of additional help?

I will give all your input to the dealer if they want to try something. I just tired of changing parts and getting the same issue.

I will give you updated.

I still think its your rear alignment. Take it to a good alignment shop and tell them to check the rear alignment really well. I had the same exact symptoms

I'm having the same problem. I replaced the rear shocks, lower control arms, lower links and radius bars. Upon doing all this, I learned the problem was with the rear knuckle. This is the part that the shocks, control arms, & hub attach to. The bushings in the knuckle went bad, real bad as all the material around the bushing wore away and the bolt floats around in the space. This causes the rear wheel to move out of place and my rear end comes out. I'm replacing them this weekend.

Did you get to resolve the issue by replacing the bushings? do you have a picture of what the area looked like before repairs?
