Thought I'd put this up here since I've been here longer than on the BMW forums. I've put up plenty of random pics before, but I thought I'd compile them. This is the weekend car, originally gave it to my wife as a gift and never intended on modding it more than it already was...but you know how it goes. So the FX is the daily driver and this is the project car. Obviously they are polar opposites - the FX is entirely blacked out and this is not...

With the FX, I have to be concerned about noise and keep it somewhat practical. This one I'm not as concerned with so I can do more. After emissions testing in May, new downpipes go on. Then LSD, new rear bumper, and maybe methanol. Still working on getting a custom steering wheel so new paddle shifters can go on. And maybe bigger turbo's during the winter.

very well modified, surprised you didn't land any sponsors in your line of business

Thanks, but I've been out of the automotive aftermarket for a while now. Sold the business way back in '06 and have worked in finance/investments since then. But back in the day, we did have a lot of sponsors. My wife had way more sponsors for her car than me - literally everything on her old Integra was sponsored. Didn't hurt that the car was featured in a magazine back then.

These days, it's just easier to buy parts than to go after sponsors. Don't have time for the commitments to shows and travel that goes along with it.

Thanks, she was definitely surprised last year. Funny thing is part of the reason I got it for her was so I could modify the FX more and she'd have something to drive. Didn't really work out that way once I realized how big the aftermarket for it is.

Awesome car Shadow, what a sweet Valentines gift for your wife, especially with all your mods.

its awesome that you and the wifey are both car people :good:. Sick BMW man, cant wait to see what else you have in store for it

It does help that I don't have to explain too much to her and she knows how to drive a lowered car. Next up is new rear bumper and CF diffusor. Then more performance stuff, downpipes and LSD later in summer. If I'm lucky, turbo upgrade over the winter.

New rear tires, upsized a tiny bit. Went from 285/25 to 295/25/20 and these are Hancook V12's. One of the few E92's with 295's, everyone says they won't fit. I had to roll the fender pretty aggressively and pull it a tiny bit, but no rubbing. More traction now too.

And just some pics after I washed it.
