I have been looking for a license plate bracket to avoid drilling into my custom bumper when I done with the refinishing in Spring. There are other out there, but its a bit pricier than I like to pay and none of them was willing to work with me with the measurements that I have sent them.

I found Rho-plate Tow Hook License Plate Mounting Kit and have been working with them on the sizing. They don't have the kit listed on their site yet, but the item# is RPMZ01 on my receipt. I'm sure they will list it for the FX once I confirm with them the kit works.

I drill a hole about half inch off the existing mounting slot so the license plate is dead on center how I like it to be.

Here are some pictures of the kit:

God damn, if my car didn't have thew holes drilled already I would be all about this. I hate the way infiniti mounts plates.

I agree, the OEM plate mount bracket is ugly and so bulky.
One way to cover the holes is to paint those chrome screw caps you get for plate frames and use those if you don't want to deal with filling in the holes and painting.

Honestly I need a new front bumper/repaint. Mine is not looking so hot.

When I get it fixed I will fill in the holes then use a bracket like this. BC has been talking about getting rid of the front plate for awhile, if it goes through in washington it will go through here as well, but it seems like both are just waiting for the other to make a move first.

Is it $60 for the kit?

What size thread is the fx? I know the z/g had 3 different sizes.

Stillen makes them at like $110 or something. Its crazy!

Yeah, the price on the Stillen crazy. This kit is $60. The FX thread M16x2, threaded part of the rod is 19 mm, the none threaded part of the rod is 119 mm. and the width is 20.50 mm.

I made my own bracket and drilled underneath my bumper. I figured nobody is really going to check to see where the plate is coming from and I saved myself two holes directly in the front. The whole setup cost me $8 from ace hardware

M16 was the size of the early z/g then they went to m22 and m24 in the later years. No reason why.

Been lazy to try to make one. Maybe I'll just buy.
