Dash is Cracking - FX 2009

Hi guys, looks I'm first on this dash cracking on a 2009 FX :at-wits-end:. Also is happening on driver side too.

I'm out of manufacturer warranty. Have extended warranty. but I doubt this will be covered.

Any advise?

No garage.

No visit to the dealer yet.

This shouldn't happen on a 5 year old car. I had a 4runner for 10 years on same conditions and never had a similar issue.

I'm very, very disappointed.

I just noticed today the bigger crack on the passenger side. I thought that may be some hit caused the crack, but looked on driver side and there is a hairline crack parallel to the AC vent.
 
I can tell you right now dealers will not cover this. It was a common problem on the G35 and they never honored that issue. They will call it wear and tear.

Sucks to see this though and you are the first person I've seen happen to. This is not a common issue. Usually cracks start because the dash was not protected from day one since the dash is made of vinyl.
 
I have 3M 50% on the windshield.

Always go with name brand especially for the the windshield. Cheaper tint distorts the light coming through the windshield at nighttime.
 
I have 35%, since I got the car 3 years ago (may be was installed since new) . Dash cracked anyway.
I doubt sun light was the main reason of the cracks because those cracks are on a location far from direct sun light. There are other areas more exposed and are fine.
 
Hmmm maybe you have a lemon. I noticed alot of your posts are problems you had with your ride. Dash maybe already had defects from the factory which could of causes the cracking.

Yeah, I'm very disappointed with this car. Infiniti, will NOT be on my next car options.
 
Went to the dealer and they suggested to make a claim directly to consumer affairs. As far more people complain about this issue, probably can extend warranty on FX 2009+. This happened to FX 2003-08 dash bubbling issue.

So 2009+ FX's owners keep an eye on your dash integrity. If you see any hairline crack and you are out of manufacturer warranty, place a claim to consumer affairs. As more do claims, more chance that Infiniti take care of it.
