Hello Guys,

A few days ago, I buyed an Infiniti FX45 from 2003 with 40'000 miles.
I leave in the Valais part from Switzerland and this car isn't really common here.

My project points description:
I have help from my sister for all, from Access Car in Conthey (VS) for the experience in mounting as original some sound system and other stuff, from Café for the integration in the original parts (cutting, sanding, modification, ...)
Thanks to them for the really helpful support in this project :-)

1- Remove bose radio without navigation and replace it with Alpine ICS-X8
1a- Unbuild the bose radio
1b- Find the good harness to connect the Alpine with ISO connector and keep the steering control unit
1c- Install the Alpine with all the accessories (Microphone, Navigation, iPod cables)
1d- Relocate the "orange screen"
1e- Relocate the original clock
1f- Relocate the 12V plug
1g- Add an amplifier and subwoofer

2- Install front and rear distance park control
2a- Remove front bumper, install in the down plastic part the 4 sensors
2b - Remove rear bumper, install in the down plastic part the 4 sensors and the rear camera

3- Install angel eyes
3a- Unbuild the headlight
3b- Build angel eyes inside (projector and blinker)

4- Change the shift panel for a 2006 version

5- Don't know yet :-)

Wow, like the list of what you have done. When you can, post up some pics of your Alpine ICS-X8 build.

The project is still on-going. 2.5 days already.
In all the cars I owned before, i tried to keep the installation as clean as an original mount.

Actually, the Alpine is in and work with the original Bose amplifier and speakers.
I have used the harness from InCarTec with steering control adapter 29-674 (For Nissan 350Z, Murano and Navara).
The steering control doesn't work for yet. We need to figure out how the cabling and resistance work.
Here you will find the harness used for this installation:
http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/niss...heel-stalk-control-adaptor-29674-p-38310.html

To install the Alpine, we have used the original mounting kit.
The 2 din Alpine is where the "orange screen" was fixed.
The aircon control unit is at the up screw from the original clarion unit. It means that we can insert between the aircon and the Alpine the Navigation (Alpine NVE-M300P).

The relocation of the "orange screen" is made where the original clock is build.
And the clock will be relocated into the ashtray.
The 12V will be near at the right of the ashtray, opposite to the warning button.

An amplifier Alpine PDX-2.150 is now in the trunk in the plastic part just up from the original Bose amplifier.

Pictures are coming soon :-)

Finally, I got the requested posts to be able to share some pictures and links :-)

Ok, let's go on the project now!
Original radio out
(Thanks to skillet for this: https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=7990-USA-Spec-PA15-NIS-install?p=125735#post125735 )

Glove box out to install the iPod, USB and mini jack input for the radio

Now, the steering control unit and the wiring must be checked to figure out how to connect the steering control adapter.
A part of the info found here:

And the pictures:

The connector is the grey one under the steering wheel:

Nice. Why you didn't install a Metra Axxess steering wheel adapter? Much easier to install.

Wow! big project at some point I might think about doing something like this too. Where are you going to buy Angel eyes and are you going to do the LED's or regular ones?

@zebra555
The InCarTec was originaly for Nissan 350Z who got the "same" steering control and plug as the Inifniti, but unfortunately, we need to check all the cables and possibilities to let it work :-(
If you know the exact model who work with Infiniti FX45 from 2003 without navigation and a place to buy it through internet, I'll be more than happy.

@macsfx
For the Angel Eyes, I think I'll buy it from LightWerkz
http://shop.lightwerkz.net/Various-Sizes-Custom-Fitment-Angel-Eyes
or from SuperBrightLed
http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...d-angel-eye-headlight-accent-lights-cob/1135/

But I'm also thinking to add the Switchback DTRL that Renhalt installed:

Saturday, we will finish the most part of the sound system and dash modification. (Pictures will come)
Hope we will have enough time to start with the front and rear sensors for the distance park control.

I got Metra Axxess installed in my car. Here are few sellers on eBay that ship to Switzerland,

Now it's also time to prepare the wiring for the amplifier in the trunk:

IMG_0307_redimensionner_zpsba813cbe.jpg

You need to install the double cinch cable for the sub, a + cable directly from the battery and the remote cable from the radio.
In my case, I also installed another cinch cable for the rear camera. (Picture with the amplifier installed will come soon.)

To be able to put the Alpine ICS-X8 double din where the "orange screen" was fixed, we have cuted a part of the dash to fit it as well as we can. The Alpine just exit a bit from the dash as you can see on the pictures. I used the original dash mount to fix the radio, the navigation and the aircon control center.

The Alpine on with the future place for the "orange screen"

IMG_0333_redimensionner_zps07083d99.jpg

To be able to install the orange screen in this place, we need to move a bit the white part under the cassette door:

IMG_0324_redimensionner_zps761ac734.jpg

After the first sound check, we found that the front left speaker has some trouble with the high frenquency, so we need to change it.
By luck, my friend has made in a Bentley Ice Speed Record limited edition a brand new sound system installation. So I can use the speakers from the Bentley who fit perfectly the hole from the Inifiniti :-)
But, I need to keep the original filter from the original speaker, otherwise the normal amplifier Bose doesn't give sound to the Bentley speaker:

:good: Loving what you showing us. Keep them coming.

It will look much better if you can separate the display from the head unit so that you will have more room to mount the it in the factory location.

By the way, did you remember how you connect it? Which cable from the steering control goes with which cable on the harness?
It will be really helpful in case you can give me this info. I already loosed so many hours to try to figure it out :-(
Thanks in advance.

@la_fx35
Thanks for your comment.
Actually we have cutted the dash part, so I don't think I'm going to separate the screen from the Alpine. But, you suggestion may let the mount looks more original.
Most of the time, I try to change the double din unit as soon as a new version come on the market. When the new one come, I sold the "old" one. That's mainly why I try to avoid to split the unit and the screen.
I buy this Alpine ICS-X8 to be able to have a mirror of my phone, so I don't need to have the Mobile visible. Unfortunately the mirror-link works only with Nokia and Samsung S3 for now. I'm waiting the next firmware for the Alpine or a new product. I know that some others brands have the mirror link who works, but, for me, the sound from the Alpine source is better than the others.
