I've been looking for some decent LED for the outer round housing for those of us did the DTRL-Signal Swap Mod.

This the LED I bought: http://www.vleds.com/v3-w-6k-2817.html

The LED was pretty hard to install into the housing due to the design and the confine space behind the headlight. I had a hard time to secure it to the housing. The LED is definitely high quality and well made, but the mounting system is pretty generic. They use screws as the mount clip. A 7443/7440 socket has four clips that is 90 degree from one another. Due to the screw/clip orientation, it can only fit two screws instead of four screws/clips on to the base of the LED assembly. So, I reservation on how long it can stay secured to the housing.

The LED looks good in the headlight and the output color match up with my 6000K D2S nicely.

The kit comes with screws, gasket, heat shrink tubes, and the LED. The 7443/7440 base has be purchased separately. Here are some pics.

Hoping to get mine installed this weekend, thank god for warmer weather. Looks great Andy.

oohlala very nice Andy. What is your take on light output compared to the less high tech looking LEDs?

The light output just a bit better than conventional LED. I was more after the color and how the LED look in the housing since I did the DTRL-Signal swap.

Finally got mine in. It actually wasn't that bad. The base does stick out quite a bit, but it feels like it's in there pretty solidly.

I'll tell you in about 4 hours. :) The lights are definitely brighter than the other LEDs I've tried and look quite a bit brighter than the traditional bulbs.

Justin, how many screws did you use? I can only use too and I think it would be more solid if I can get can get another screw on.

Yeah, I was only able to use two, but between the gaskets I used and being able to use a flat head to get some leverage on the base, they both feel solidly in there.
