Issues with my FX

Well, I had a few things worked on last week (luckily covered under the warranty that I bought), including the hub and tie rods. I thought I was in the clear, but today, while driving to work, I hit the gas, and there was no acceleration while going about 65mph. I thought at first that, since I was wearing high heels, that my foot had slipped and not actually hit the gas. Then this afternoon, again, I hit the gas pedal, and there was no acceleration for a long enough period that I almost hit the hazard lights and pulled over. Then, the "check engine", "slip" and "VDC" lights came on. So I got to my client's house, turned the car off, then when I tried to turn it back on, it took 3 or 4 cranks before it started. I have dropped it off at the dealership, but I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to what my be wrong. My mom said maybe the alternator, but I have no clue. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance!

Possible it's bad gas or fuel delivery having difficulty? Dealer should be able to pull the codes in determining the issues.
How many miles on your FX and when was the last service with throttle body cleaning?

btw, welcome to the scene

type in "infiniti fx 35 brake slip vdc off warning light" in a url and the infinitiscene thread should pop up i think it will come up as the #2 search tried to post the whole link but it didn't let me because i have fewer than 10 posts i get my car back today so i will update my post. the exact same thing happened to me before the whole system shut down the funny thing is none of those indicator lights ever popped up prior to my fx meltdown/shutdown. anyways the whole frightening experience is posted in the thread.

Holy run on sentence Batman...

Hopefully you got this figured out by now but, judging that you just had things worked on up front such as hubs (especially hubs) and how the wheel speed sensors bolt in behind them and are very easy to damage upon removal, AND the fact that the lights you are getting are slip and "vehicle dynamic control" (dunno what the check engine light is without you pulling it), I would highly suggest checking the work done in the front end and making sure there is no obstruction/broken ABS sensors. This has happened to me many times working on these in the past but I also have never had it cause a drivability concern, just lights.

Maybe MAF sensor? Sounds like you hit limp mode. It could also be the alternator or main power wire/fuse. Years back I had a Maxima and the high output alternator shorted and blew the main fuse. It drove ok for a few more miles, but all of a sudden the CEL, brake, and all other warning lights came on. Basically when the electrical system drops below a certain voltage, the car goes crazy. Unlike some other car like Honda, shorting the main power wire on Nissans doesn't shut the car down, the motor will still run. But a lot of other stuff goes offline.

Doesn't seem like a traction control system issue if you were having trouble starting later. Good luck, electrical issues are very annoying.

Exact same thing happened to me. Just had to clean the throttle body and never happened again. After cleaning it I did have to get the ECU reset done by the dealer bcus the check engine light would stay on due to the high RPM(it can happen after you clean the throttle body). By resetting the ECU rpm returned back to normal.

I experienced the very same issue yesterday afternoon. I was driving for about 10 minutes and came to a stop light when the light turned green I stepped on the peddle there was no acceleration. The vehicle was rolling enough to let me clear the intersection. Service engine, Slip, and VDC lights all came on.

I parked it up which I am awaiting a Nissan mechanic to scan and reset the ECU in hopes of getting this resolved. (fingers crossed that is all I need on this one).

I recently changed both control arms and got an alignment about a week ago - would any of these services contributed to this?

Additional notes:
Vehicle starts up on the first turn with no hesitation or rough idling.

Not sure what you guys do different. I have yet have a problem with all those times I clean my throttle body. Take the TB off the car, spray electronic cleaner or brake fluid cleaner in. Gently open the butterfly valve spray some more. Wipe with rags. Re-install.

So, I had the code read which came back with numerious error codes. First major one was the Throttle Sensor which went away after I drove the vehicle for about 20 minutes. EUC was reset, but the CEL was still on.

The Nissan technician suggested one of the major contributor to the other error codes I was getting was the accelerator pedal position sensor which I was advised to change first as this might be the main source to my problems described above.

EUC was cleared, no acceleration problems at this time, still have CEL on however, I refuse to drive before I rake-up more towing fees than it would cost to change the defective part.

Anyone dealt with accelerator pedal position sensor can shed some light on the cost, did it correct your issue etc…?

Once I have played with a modified TB and it throwing few codes including throttle position sensor and accelerator pedal sensor. I put the stock TB back in, erase all the codes, and it it good to go. I know it isn't exactly the problem you're experiencing. I caused the codes for testing a modified TB. What I'm try to say was with modern cars (computer controls and sensors everywhere), If one fail and it may daisy chained to cause another sensor to mis-read.

Oh I wanted to add that when I was experiencing those codes, the FX drives like I'm towing an 18-wheelers. I just doesn't want to go.

Are you getting the code for the accelerator position sensor? P2138? It could cause the problems you're seeing since it's basically telling the throttle position sensor what to do. If the sensor goes, the car wouldn't know how much you're pressing down on the pedal so I suppose it wouldn't move.

These are the codes I am getting

P1564
P0327
P2138
P0183

Update

I changed the throttle body as one of two mechanics recommended on 4/2/2014.
Vehicle started-up fine with no CEL on, drove around for a good 30 minutes and parked-up.

My GF attempted to drive to work yesterday morning and guess what?
CEL, SLIP and VDC Off lights all came back on. I advise her to turn the ignition off and back on which she indicated the CEL is the only one on at this point. She drove in as her commute is not that far compared to mine which I will not risk it until I know for certain the issue is somewhat fixed.
During her trip none of the other lights came-on or most importantly the vehicle RPM dropped and unable to gain any type of acceleration as it did before I had the throttle body change.

Now it is recommend by the second mechanic to go ahead and change the Accelerator Peddle Position Sensor.

Judging from the previous and current symptoms - do you folks believe I am heading in the right direction with this?

Do me side way...

Major bummer...

I just had the Accelerator Peddle Position changed. Drove good for about 30 minutes and the same problem happening.
