Scratch on interior door trim

Got this scratch on the back passenger side door trim where the leather/vinyl is :mad.:

Kind of bummed about it since that's the only scratch there is on the interior. I'm pissed about it cause it looks worse is person. I'm ashamed to say how it happened though. I can't decide on what to do really. I don't want to pay $500 for a new door panel, but I was thinking about having it repaired by a leather/vinyl repair shop. But then I don't want it too look like ass after that. If I get it repaired I want it to come out perfect not half assed lol. Opinions on replacing or repairing?

Please excuse the OCD guys, but I like the interior to be as perfect as the exterior.

Try a conditioner as it may lighten up the scratch. With all the cash you spent on replacing scratched parts you almost have enough for some wheels :smile (2): hint hint.

Only replaced the center console trim when it got scratch lol.

Tried a conditioner before but it never worked. Going to make some calls to auto leather repair shops I guess. A new door panel is $483. No way am I buying that.

Leave it. The Interior will get more and more scratches..... Can't keep replacing $500 panels....

+1 I would leave it also. I hear ya, it does suck but our whips are 4-5 yrs old and are bound to get more scratches on them. You of all people with OCD (which I was told by many that I have it too), gets a black vehicle. < -- worse color choice for a person with OCD.. lol

Sometimes I regret going black.....but oh well

Black looks better than any color when it's freshly washed, polished, and waxed lol. :smile (2):

you could always keep an eye out for scrapped parts....I've seen in the past salvaged FXs being sold for parts. Those would be good times to investigate the pieces and replace parts for much cheaper....but that can take a lot of time. Unfortunately I don't think anything will take these scuff marks out. I have a few faint ones myself and have tried folex, etc. disappears then comes back.

What about that aluminum panels on the doors? Does the whole door panel have to be replaced for those, or do those come off like the aluminum door handles on the 1st gen. I have two small scratches on the aluminum panels, one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side and looking at them makes me want to replace the panels too.

Hey I ended up ordering a new door panel. Got it for a really cheap price for $200 off MSRP.

If you want dude my new door panel will come with the aluminum trim so since I already have the trim I can sell you the new one for real cheap. Door panel should be here next week. The aluminum trim comes off it's not a part of the door but for some reason it's included when I bought my new door panel lol.

By the way contacted a leather repair place and they wanted $250 to repair the scratch. Yeah right :mad.:

For a $250 fix I would have bought a new panel also, and your new panel only cost you $200, can't beat that. I will PM you about the aluminum trim.

Aaron:

Where did you order the door panel from for $200 off list?

Thanks!

Front tint applied today and they scratched the shit out of the interior door panel. I'm as OCD as you and the shop isn't being any help. Very unhappy I even bothered with the tint.

Not yet. Dealing with the owner of the tint place. He offered to replace them but that was before he found out what they cost!

Wish me luck...
