Well everyone , it's time I join the Akebono brake crew, This thread isn't a how to (since there are more qualified people who have already done it) but just me trying to contribute to the IS community. Ill try to leave links prices and such for anyone who is contemplating doing the brake upgrade. Today was day one of packages coming in.
I used, www.car-parts.com to find a salvaged caliper, unfortunately I only found the driver side for a good price the passenger side was readily available but close to msrp price. If you guys have never used car-parts.com I highly suggest it as it connects to junkyards all over the U.S. and Canada. It's really awesome to use because it cross references parts with other cars. That came out to 157.55 shipped.

Next up are the stoptech banjo bolts, ordered from http://store.zeckhausen.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_217 they are an authorized dealer for stoptech. 5 bucks a pop plus shipping came to 21 dollars

I will be following this closely. I always wondered about this as an upgrade. Please continue to update, we all appreciate your efforts.

Thanks all! I think the hardest part was sourcing all of the parts which hopefully I can shed some light on that. By the way I'm dead set on painting them a color close to ithica verde (bright ass lambo green) my car is almost completely blacked out, seems like this color combo is starting to be a lil trendy but whatever! Oh my location is Manhattan Kansas not New York! :top:

Nice project, doing just fronts? or the complete BBK setup? let the hunting begin! :smug:

Yes, I recalled turbocad bleeding and closing the inner then followed by the outer (flashback 2009). The rear setup also has 2 bleeders on each caliper.
