I ordered i simple Dual link NI1 ISNI531
Cuz i just got an iphone 4s ^^ lol kinda late
Just wanted to put up a scene version of this DIY
Out there for anyone looking... This is a simple device
all plug & Play...

First you have to open the dash where the dash unit is... and also the
gear lever cover.

Then take the radio unit out
there are 4 screws holding it in place

Behind the radio unit there are about 8 harnesses that are attached to it please take all
of them out for ease of access the one you are going to be using is the bottom right and
second to the bottom left... Well they only fit correclt to two of them so you cant go wrong.
Just pay attention when youare taking them out because you do not want to damamge the
harnesses.

this is the pic of the new plug n play harness in there.....

Plug everything back in and before you starting screwing thing back in I Checked to see that it was
working ^^

In my case i put em under the shift box..... andlet the aux wire just hang alil and closed the cover back
with out ,uch stress cuz i din have enough time to drill small holes and stuff
you can do a perfectionist job if you prefer...^^

Now close it all back up and enjoy high quality sound....

it actually took me only 30 minutes and i have no skills at all...
you should do it too and the kit is plug and play with no tapping what so ever...
and i got it for 75 at ebay so could'nt beat it!!

So sorry but i dont get your question .... Sat button is there and I don't have Sat radio if that's what your asking
for the device you have to press the Sat button to make it work. Sat button allows the radio to tune to Aux ...
 
This connects to headphone jack of ipod or mp3 only in my case i had a separate i phone charging stand that i plug into cig jack.
Also comes with rca cable i guess for like portable dvd player which i do not use
 
I need to get working on this mod also ! tired of burning new CDs every few weeks lol
and ! I see your an 'ultra light' type of guy those are like sucking in a stick of air to me, Im a red type of guy, lol

I told my self 10 yrs ago that ill swtich to something lighter
and then quit..... takiing me a long time to quit... hhahah:tongue (2):
 
Why did you get this instead of the Gateway module?
I'm thinking about getting the Gateway module, but I want to weight out the pros and cons before pulling the trigger on buying it lol

hmmmm thats a hard question.... I was looking up on different options myself also like the original ipod module for fx and
also the gateway... but if i'm not mistaken.. they involved cutting and wiring..." I could be wrong" and this one is really just plug and play....

easy install and also cheaper maybe? isimple cost me 75 free ship on ebay... I believe others are more.... quality of the sound
is very excellent ....of course if you go with the infiniti dealer ipod module then you get to control it with the radio but hey
all I wanted was nice quality music and a efficient and easy DIY...

Question. SInce i dont own a FX. ( 06 g35 sedan owner)
In the trunk of my car. there is a sat connection cable (sat prewire ) they call it. I've personally taken apart my dashboard a few times. Its no biggie, But it would be a lot easier to just plug it in the trunk. What do u guys think?
 
Hmmm but u still have a sat/ cat button right? Im not an xpert thats why i got this instead of other things....... But to actually turn thr music on u have to have sat/ category button... Hope this helped
 
And also the rca cable or the aux line which is the headphone jack may not be long enough bcuz you will need to plug this into your phone or mp3 player

I'll check if its long enough from under the seats to center console. If not i'll just tear apart the dashboard again.

And I'm on the same boat as u, I hate making CDs. Most of my friends lease cars so, in the 2011 G37s u can stream music thru bluetooth, makes me feel... too old school.

Also If you have gone this far, and have the Aux inputs available. We can go further and get the

With this device they actually give u 2 cablles so maybe you can cut em and rig em n extend it a bit longer ...... Just a thought
