Changing the Mood Lighting in the Door Handles to LED

We all know we have mood lighting in the interior door handles in all four doors. Anytime the car is on the emits a soft yellow amber color which I'm not really a fan of. I want them to match the mood lighting in the floor well and the mood lighting that shines down over the console from the sunglass holder.

I took the door handle off today to have a look at it and this is what it looks like:

The door handle light is already LED actually, but it's not a white LED. And you can't just swap out the bulb and put a new one in. The actual bulb is attached to the wire it's connected to. So if I'm wanting to change this I will need to do some cutting and soldering of the new bulb to go on. This is not great since I really don't want to do any cutting into any wiring.
 
Ok guys after hours of searching I finally found a place online that sells the replacements! You will have to cut the bulb off but its a 1 minute thing and it looks OEM.

I'm not giving the link out yet as I want to be sure first when I receive them and not look like a fool lol. :bad:

Your the man Aaron, I hope the bulbs you ordered work out because I def want to get this done :)
 
Yup, keep us posted! That's one thing that stood out when I first drove my FX at night...the yellowish door handle lights don't seem to match any of the other interior mood lighting
 
Just want to let you guys know these are coming in the morning and I'll install them in the afternoon. Pictures to follow tomorrow night :wink:
 
You got a big day tomorrow with this and the b-quite. Wish I was there to help you out all day. Would love to be part of the process! :disapointed: That's how Handy Andy meets are....guys working together modding their cars....once in NY and the other in Chicago and I'm in between by myself! :disapointed:
 
The bulb I got comes with the wire attached to it only a $1.14 each and their 5K in color.


Wish you could be here too man! We need meets like that here in NY like Handy Andy haha
 
I'm not sure I'll check it out for you. If I confirm these work fine though I'll post the link up. These are close to 95% of looking OEM with no soldering involved.
 
I'm upset with u Aaron, I thought you could do 2 things at once, install the B quiet and the door handle LED's. Grrrrr lol jkkk, I'm just pulling your strings
