Borla Exhaust install at shop

Decided to go ahead and get the Borla put on at my friendly neighborhood performance shop. I'll take some before and after videos, but they probably won't be up for a while since I'm still waiting on my new computer and I don't really want to upload videos and pictures from my work computer.

Looking at future modifications. I really like the place I'm using. We're both going to do some research and then have a meeting to decide what will be the best options. So ideas will be welcome.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Borla Exhaust. The Borla exhaust will sound good on your FX50S since Borla does usually focus on v8 engines mostly. The only Con that i have heard is that during cold weather or the first 15-20 minutes of the drive it is really raspy. Post pictures as soon as you can so we can see.

Nice, I'm from the woodlands.. WPS is a great shop. I worked right next to their shop for a year and they always have some nice cars in for upgrades.

Is the borla being discussed made specifically for the FX50? Or it is just a FX35 modified to fit?

Does it increase power at all? Or just sound?

Thanks!

borla is made specific to FX50. I don't think you get much gains. Sound I think is terrific but the looks I dislike a lot...looks cheap because the end of the pipes are double wrapped like the cheap cars.

so it basically stays a quad CAT configuration? The setup doesnt replace any of the cats with 'through pipes' ?? My guess is the mufflers are not the restrictive part, its the 2nd set of cats (the first ones you need or you'll set a cell light)

I already want more power out of the FX50, its nice, and decent, but I need a little more then just decent. I'd like to be able to beat a stock SRT8, which probably will take another 50 hp

With a little $$$ you could have the first ever GT-R powered FX.

That's what I want as well. Been doing research on how to get there.

My new computer should arrive Wednesday, so I'll get some pictures and a video of it stock up Wednesday or Thursday night.

Updated thread title from "And so it begins" to "Borla Exhaust install at shop" and thread tags from "begin" to "borla, exhaust, install, shop"

Haven't been able to quit smiling since I picked her up yesterday. Sounds much more aggressive.

I will admit that the tips aren't the best. The inner pipe makes it look cheaper. But the sound makes up for it.

Valentine's dinner is tonight so I'll get a video up as soon as I can. Going to Fogo De Chao.

Did you notice a power difference? I have the wife's FX50 on the lift right now, and I am SHOCKED at how restrictive the exhaust system is. There has to have been an increase in power. Any photos of the install? I'd like to see what it looks like under the car, how much 'fatter' the pipes are vs stock.

Anyone make a highflow cat for these cars yet? Wife doesnt really want me modding her car, but damn I really think there is some good power to be found with opening up the full exhaust as a start.
