Car Wont Start!

sounds like batteries.. I guess its not cranking right? only that mechanical sound....
was it cranking b4? and eventutally after alot of tries it stopped? or it never cranked...

I know for 2009+, car won't even make that clicking noise if it was the battery. There is a sensor by the battery that measures current and if it's not right amount, it will just cut it completely.

Would the battery need to be replaced at around 80k? I have noticed it has been a little sluggish recently when starting it up. Would jumping it even work or do I need to buy a new battery.

jumping may work but if you can change the betteries your self i would say just change it or jump it then go to
a shop and change it... whichever way you may feel more comfy

It's just a dead battery most likely. Especially if it was acting weird before. Swap it out for a nice fresh one and your troubles will go away.

Are you guys sure it's not the starter? If you think it's the battery, You can get your battery tested at Auto Zone for free?

I kind of have a feeling it is the starter too, but, if it is, why is my horn barely honking when i try to lock my car.

If you are able to turn on your head lights and they are bright your radio is loud and you can use your automatic windows and doors then your battery definitely isn't dead.

As for the starter When you turn the key you will hear a clicking sound. Since you just started having these problems try starting it a couple of times. Most likely it will start. If that happens it is most likely the starter You can also try hitting the starter with a hammer just tap it don't pound on it. If the vehicle starts it's a starter problem.

Did you notice before you had this problem a slowed start heard several clicks before it would actually start up. If so then most likely your starter was going bad and you didn't realize it and nowit's too late.

Not sure about the radio but I will try turning it on tomorrow morning. I did try starting it quite a few times without any luck. I will test the battery first thing tomorrow morning also.

Highly doubt its the starter. Its not very common for a fx to have starter issues or a dead one at that.
Get the battery tested replaced and you will be good as new! At over 80k your due!

If that's your original battery with 6 years in cold weather winters, its time. You said you've have laboring start ups. Fresh juice will make her happy. Charging or jump starting will only delay the inevitable.
