also.... would I need spacers?

kind of a noob questions but I work in finance, not cars... haha

I got Yokohama prada spec-x for my gtrs. Seems like people like them. You'd probably want 275/40 or 285/35 to keep as close as possible to original wheel circumference. Also a drop would be nice (I know, I know it's more mods)

They're also pretty reasonably priced

"Falken Wheels LX-M 22X8.55-108/11435MCL". That is so cryptic. If I read it correctly, this wheel available in 22x8.5 ET35 with 5-108 or 5-114 bolt pattern Machined Chrome Lip. Pretty sure their 5-114 representation is for 5-114.3 bolt pattern. Bolt pattern is good. 22s with only 8.5 width is too narrow. Very limited tire choices. Unless you like the stretched looks.

22x8.5 ET35 wheel will extend an extra 11mm from OEM position. If you go go with a 30 mm spacer, your offset will be at 41 mm, that will give a better look, but not very flush flush aggressive look. The H&R DRM spacer will cost you $180 a pair though.

Seems like you can only run with 265/40/22 tires. Even with this tire size, the 40 series tire best fit 9 to 10.5 wheel width and your wheel is at 8.5 width.

I personally wouldn't buy these wheels. I would go with at least a 9 inch width on the 22s for more tire choices. The cost of wheel & spacer will run you near $400 per wheel. Again in my opinion, not worth it.

Correct me if I am wrong... ( i most likely am wrong b/c i don't know a lot about offset and spacers)

if our oem wheel are offset +45 and these wheels are offset +35, in theory would i just need a spacer for 10mm?? (this would be for the 22x8.5 et35

also.... they do make the same wheel in a 22x9.55 et15... would this be too wide and would i need spacers then??

I really like these wheels, and again, have been looking for a while, i just need help in deciding what size to get... i do want to make sure that it does look flush, so please help!

So should i go with the 22x8.5 offset 35 OR the 22x9.5 offset 15????

Thanks guys!

The lower your offset the more "flush" with the fender or "sticking out compared to oem." Your oems are +45 offset, so to imagine +35 it will be like your oems but pushed outwards 10mm. I would get 20mm or 25mm spacers for these wheels.

Many other factors play into the offset also, my explanation is very elementary and ballparking it really. As an example my wheels i have are +25mm offset. I bought 25mm spacers to compliment them (i think this makes my offset +0 then). They are pretty much perfectly flush with my fenders now.

Ok... so maybe i am confused... for example, so you are saying that if our oem is +45... and I get a +35... the wheel and tire would then stick out from the fender correct?

and a spacer basically brings that wheel and tire back into the wheel well to make it flush??

i thought that if you have a +45 offset and you get a +35 offset that would mean your wheel and tire would sit deeper in the wheel well and thus would need a spacer to bring it back out... but its the other way around???

Thanks for the help guys!!!

this is harder than i thought... haha

so again, should i go with the 22x8.5 et35 or 22x9.5 et15??

the lower the offset, the further the wheel moved outward of the fender

In general...
High offset = sunk
You want to get the perfect offset to be flush (if that is the look you are aiming for)

Three offset calculators:

I get it now!! man... seriously thank you for the schooling....

so next question....

so... 22x9.5 et15 would sit pretty much flush with the fender correct?

and would 9.5 width be too wide???

22x9.5 with 15 offset will...

Extend an additional 49mm as compared to stock. It will be close to flush, but still a little sunk (not much) i think...

Are you looking to lower your ride too? Keep in mind if you are too flush with the fender you will have to "roll them" so your tires do not hit the inside metal part of your fenders.

lastly, 9.5 is not too wide. I'm running 20x10 on all fours. Others run even wider.

on your 20x10 white size tire you running? and brand?

The favored tires from iS members are Yokohama Prada Spec X and Hankook Ventus. The Hankooks come in RH06 and RH07. The RH06 is preferred.
I've had both the Yoko's and RH06 and liked them both.
This thread gives good tire reviews from members:

22x9.3 ET15 will be a much better. That extend extra 44mm from OEM. 9.5 is not wide. If the wheel comes in 10 wide will be even better flush.

For reference, I'm running with 22x10.5 ET40 + 25 mm spacer all around PERFECT flush in the front. The rear stick out a hair.

what size tire are you running?

BTW Thank you all for the help, you guys have answered all of my questions, and have given me some great knowledge!!:tup::tup:

Nitto 420S 285/40/22. Not recommend the tire. I bit noisy to my liking, but really good wet/dry traction though.

you think me running the

22x9.5 et15 with 285/40-22 (parada spec x's) would be a good combo? or would 285 be too much?
285 is not too much at all. It will look really good.
I stated the wrong tire size in my previous reply. I'm also running 285.

Parada Spec X is a good tire. Lots of members have it on. I have no experience with it though.
