Upper Strut Bar Installed

It took me 30 minutes to install the bar and I could not be happier with the end result. Having said that, I do have a concern since I installed the bar under the engine's cover (a must for the FX50):

- The bar is touching the cover's inner thick noise and heat insulation material.

Now, the bar gets extremely hot after driving for a while so I was wondering if there's going to be any problem in the long term from the bar directly touching that material?

I've installed it 3 month ago and don't have any problems. Now is +36 and i'm driving very agressive. I don't have problrms. Everuthing is perfect:)

Would love some pics or more info about how the covers sit with the bar installed. Are they lifted higher than normal? Any rattling?

I'm very close to ordering this (I'm installing HR springs this weekend so would like to install this at the same time).

Thanks!

santiagodraco, somewhere were pics. install strut bar and put on the engine cover, and strut bar will be under it=)

Actually i was a bit unclear. I was hoping that both the engine cover AND the side covers can be reinstalled. So far it looks like only the engine cover itself can be installed, is that correct?

I'm also looking for thoughts on which of the 4 GTSpec parts will have the most to least effect on handling (ie ladder brace, strut bar, lateral brace, tie brace).

Thanks!

The cover is now bulged a little, but no rattling. I can feel a positive difference with the bar installed so it's highly recommended.

All 3 covers can be installed back easily. Only the engine cover gets swelled up a bit.

My fx50 needs some tightening up lol

Yes, it's. Again, highly recommended.

No way any problems will arise from the bar touching that insulation. The worst that could happen is that some of the glue *might* rub off on the bar, but you could easily just clean it off.

Just a quick bump. With installation, am i using the original strut anchor bracket or removing that completely on install? It doesn't seem to be much room to work with there either

On the first gen you remove the OEM strut plates. Could you post a photo of the part and strut bar installed? Not sure I have seen a pic of the second gen STB installed.

I have it installed and it makes a ton of difference. In order to keep the top engine cover on, I had to remove the foam. Is that there to help with engine noise?

Err. Does anyone have an extra bolt or know where do order one? I undo one of them and dropped it into the engine compartment and I can't find it anymore.

It could be sitting on your removable plastic underpan. It doesn't take long to remove it, even if you undid the screws on the one side to see if you could pull it down a bit to look in.
If not just take the other bolt to your local auto supplier and get one the same.
