Different Quality Detail Clay

Okay for you guys out there who have a lot of experience using detail clay. Is the quality of detailing clay the same as long as it's the same texture? Some vendors on Amazon sell the yellow detail clay for way cheaper than the Mother's kit. I'm just wondering if it's the same good stuff that Mother's sells. Thanks, William
 
don't bother with the amazon kit. i tried them and was very disappointed. its true that the clay comes in different levels of softness and i always thought a claybar's a claybar but nope every different brands i bought was a different in terms of performance and i decided to stay with meguiars claybar kit. also if the clay bar doesn't fell smooth upon touching, it's either time to roll them or throw them if they have been used enough.
 
I've tried a few different clays and I prefer the Yellow Ricardos Clay:

I've used Adams, Zaino and just ordered Chemical Guys. The Adams and Zaino have been great, just trying something different. Plus, I wanted to try their air fresheners. :smile (2):

If you liked Zaino Clay then try the Ricardos Yellow, I think you will really like it, it is easier to use. I'm also a huge Zaino product fan.
 
Riccardo's

This is kind of a tease. Everyone who has used the Riccardo's clay loves it but it's not sold here in the states. For some reason this "extremely dangerous product" is not allowed from Canada into the U.S.A. Seems kind of odd that detailing clay can't be sold here. Black market Riccardo's anyone ?

LOL, I forgot about that, I know people from the US that have picked it up while in Canada.
