Hello all,
If you have a budget of $500, what would you do for the FX? (I have 05 FX35 AWD)
(For the most part, I currently have Stillen Intake, Invidia CBE, Drilled/Slotted Rotors, HID Fogs/Heads, Strut Bar, LEDs installed on my FX)
Here I have a few choices.
Plenum Spacer w/ Oil Catch Can or GTSpec braces or Headers or Lowering Springs.
If you can think of any other options please let me know!
Thank you for your inputs in advance! :iS:

I'd go with lowering springs first. Probably the first essential mod everyone should do to their FX.

I'm going to sell my H&R springs around March or so after I get my coilovers installed. They will only have about 7K miles on them. If you like we can work out a deal to save you some money from buying new springs.

Lower it and get a plenum spacer.

Or for $500 you can pick up a bunch of chrome stick ons at auto zone!

headers for $500 (with install) wont happen
Plenum spacer is a good one
springs is another good one, but may pass 500 depending on where you go (with install)
Braces are nice you can get a couple for right around 500 then install yourself.

I say plenum spacer.

H&R springs and GT-spec bracing. If you DIY and buy the braces used you can probably get 2 braces, the springs, and a spring compressor for $500.

I was thinking the same, minus that bunch of chrome stuff. :wink (2):

just a note: since I got my plenum spacer, the mpg dropped drastically in the city (along with the +2 timing) :mad.:

Same here. Once I installed my Kinetix V+ plenum, I went from ~ 19.5 mpg to ~17 mpg at best now. :eek.:

I was considering springs too but with labor and new shocks and struts will cost more than my budget...(Plus I am not a DIY guy :( )
Figured why don't I just get coilovers later when springs, new shocks/struts and labor will cost around as same as getting new coilovers :)
For the cats, I guess it would get much louder plus I already have Invidia...
However, why would mpg decrease after installing the spacer??
Just curious...
Oh additionally, I know this topic has already been discussed before, but do you feel a difference after installing the spacer? or sound difference with intake and exhaust installed together?
Thank you!
