DTRL-Turn Signal Swap

Really cool mod to do! It gives off the look of four projectors with a white led bulb in it. The headlight lights up more defined now with this setup. With the OEM way, the DRL/running light washed out the headlights.
 
Funny cause i was trying to do the exact thing this past weekend but the dtrl socket didnt fit into the turn signal, and vice versa. was wondering what your process was. thanks!

Haha, I extended the DRTL wires and trim the down one of the notches on the DTRL socket. If you look at the DTRL socket (type 7443) and the turn signal (type 7440). All you got to do is shorten the second longest notch on the DRTL socket. That's it.
 
Interesting. I just have the bulbs swapped, but didn't put the turn signal bulb back in the DTRL slot. This seems like a better option.
 
We actually reverted back to using chrome coated amber bulbs for the turn signals so it wouldn't be an issue. Just type in silver chrome 7443 in eBay and you will see some.

No problem, simply use your existing ember/yellow bulb.

I did the same thing more than year ago for one of my customers headlights.. Simple mod, i used switchback bulbs for that
 
I was just trying to do this mod and found out that my dtrl wire is long enough to reach the turn signal. But the turn signal wire does not reach the dtrl socket. You had it vise versa in the write up. :confused: anyway great how to. I couldnt finish it though. Ran out of Daylight.
