Supp, I just purchased k&n filters for my fx35 planning on installing them tonight. Any one knows if it makes a deferens in the engine or maybe performance? I know that in the K&N website they say it has better performance but that’s K&N talking!! :tonguey:
Thanks!

Better airflow w/ that filter will give you a couple ponies. It'll make for a happier engine for sure & you cant go wrong

bubito9512,

How much did it cost and where you got it? It it a CAI system or just the filter?

Photo wound be nice to see after the install.

I have K&N on my other suv(Pathfinder, FJ Cruiser) in the past. It give you a very slight boost, but sound real nice when u hit the gas. And man, it alway want you to hit it to tune in the great sound. I try to found for my FX35 2010, but can't seem to found any site that carry them. I'm sure it the same for '09 model as will.

it'll change the intake noise and let more air get into the engine, which is great of course. However, there is probably minimal gain HP-wise, even with a tune.

nopp just clean it that's all, you have to change the k&n air filter every 1,000,000 million mills lol so you never have to change it, thats what K&N told me!

I put mine in today, I like them quite a bit... it sure beats the living hell out of the factory ones.

And I agree with you, acceleration feels a little better. I don't hear the air being sucked in though.

i bought one after i read this thread and im very happy with it . made the exhaust a lil louder , i feel the lil increase in overall power and better gas mileage . next is the z tube . which imma order some time next week

i have the filters to be honest thw engine doesnt seem to
choke for air

I think i'll be going this route to as i havent heard that getting a CAI gives that much more gains over a drop in and Z tube

Since there isn't really anything else performance wise that us 2nd Gen people can do, I felt compelled after reading this thread to get some myself.. Looking forward to getting them put on sometime this weekend...

Just got done installing my new filters.. I definitely hear a little difference in the sound of the engine, makes me even more eager for an intake though! It kinda feels a little bit smoother as well.. As for the install, it couldn't have been any easier!
