I had my new Parada spec-x's installed about a month or so ago and also had them "siped". Here's a web link for an explanation: http://www.sipers.com/index_large.asp
The way it was explained to me there are no downsides but it was a tire jockey/salesman doing the explaining so needless to say I'm a bit skeptical. For $16/tire or whatever it was I thought I would try it out. So far I can't say I'm amazed. I have way more traction than I did with my bald Goodyear Eagles, but that's not saying much. I can still break the tires loose in the same situations I could before, obviously it takes way more effort, but I just got new tires... Just wondering if any of you have done the same and what you think. I'm especially interested to hear if any of you have had it both ways (new tires siped and new tires unsiped) on an FX.
Thanks!
