Grill Peeling?

I purchased an '06 with Sport package (35,000 miles) about a week ago and I noticed that the outermost finish of the front grill is peeling off. I did some search on the forum but couldn't find anyone else ('03-'08) with this problem. Do you guys think that the dealer will replace the grill (Sport grill) under the warranty?

Here are some pics:

eJay- I would def have the selling dealer replace that I wouldn't really care if it was a defect or something the original owner did- especially if it was sold cpo.
Have it done along with the faded door trim- they'll probably have to order the parts-so expect 2 trips.

I just picked up a used 06 with the sport package and the peeling is much worse than the OPs. I found that the cost from the dealer is about 350$!

Is there a better/cheaper place to buy this OEM? I have tried eBay but there are only the Aftermarket ones. Thanks in advance!

Why not just sand off the chrome and spray it with Krylon paint. Many went that route. It will give the FX a custom look too. You can have it painted by a body shop too if you like. Paint it body color is another idea!

Thanks both of you for your replies. Yes, the painting would be easier and cost effective (I would do it myself just like I have for my B6 A4). However, in this case I really do prefer the OEM sport pkg grill for this car.

It was mostly wishful thinking that there is a way to refinish this grill, but I knew chances are I will need to pony up for a new one if I want the exact same look. Cheers.
