Is it me or does traction control suck on these cars?

okay so i was getting into the downtown freeway and i was doin about 40 when i just pressed it down a little more thats where my car decided to have a lil fun of itself and started fishtailing but i was lucky enough that after 10 seconds or so the traction control took over other wise i would be saying hi to the wall...:mad::mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::eek:

It sounds like you're talking about the stability control, not the traction control. It probably only FELT like ten seconds. Need a fresh set of pants afterwards?

If you need stability control to save your tail in normal driving on a dry road...well, a performance driving class is always a good idea, for anyone.

10 seconds???? 10??? dude, 10 seconds of that & you'd have kissed the wall for sure, theres no way it'd take 10 seconds for the assists to kick in & theres no way you'd keep your foot in it for 10 seconds while the wall was there & you were all squirrelly, maybe it felt like 10 seconds to you though:tongue:

are you rwd?

Isn't the proper response to fishtailing to keep your foot in it, or maybe put it in a little more?

yeah, I guess if your not scared & know what your doing maybe, but not if your saying thank god the traction control kicked in or youd be kissing the wall

personally I like driving sideways, miss that with the fx really:laugh:

I don't know if the 09's are the same or not, but on my 04 FX35 AWD the issue is not the traction control (VDC) but the differential control that causes the loose rear end situation. Above 15mph+/- its RWD, then becomes AWD again when it senses slip. The problem is that in some situations any slip at all from the rear wheels sends you sideways no matter how quickly afterwards the front wheels start pulling. (This has never happened accidentally ) The VDC works by applying the brakes individually to maintain equal wheel speeds and is much quicker to act than the differential control. The only time I've had mine sideways is in manual mode, with the VDC turned off, on a slippery surface... and very intentionally. @40mph on the freeway??? That's scary.
I think technically speaking, the VDC works great.

if my fx started fishtailing in the dry just from me pressing down the gas a little that would be nice lol

amen brother. my 45 has a big fat ass. i got all 4 tires loose in the rain about a week ago. i hit the gas a little then decided to hit it a little bit more just to go because i've missed driving it. when they broke loose, i was shocked and super happy lol. i've never spun any rubber before with her. very nice!

yah the ten seconds was a little up there but im sayin it felt like it but the thing is i wasnt that close there were 3 lanes till the wall lolll but damn the wall the vdc kicked in after a couple of seconds thats where ii saw it and eased off the gas....and yes iam a RWD

turbo i dont mind that either but as long as its not raining lol

but it's easier to do in the rain though

I used to do that with my rwd caddy all the time, no traction control or stability control or anything, just boost... my wife used to scream all the time too

hek i would do that with the amg but not with this car i love this car its my baby loll

I have a RWD Lexus GS 430 in Michigan. People wonder about RWD in the snow. I have a lot of fun with RWD in the snow...getting sideways does upset the wife, though.

I was joking earlier about pushing on the gas harder to correct oversteer. Figured I should say this, because some people will read anything literally.

lolll there is this one guy that read it im in the gym right now and iam reading this and this one other guy his like oh snap if that happens imma hit the gas i started laughing

I kept my foot in it too long once. The change in pavement was what got me. I swung the rear back around and clipped a curb.
