Hey Guys,

I recently bought an 06 FX 35. There are a few mods I like to go over with you guys before I proceed.

1. Can I lay the 3M clear bra over the Chrome trim on the side of the car? If yes, can the clear bra damage my chrome trim if I remove it in the future?

2. Can I tint over the factory tinted windows?

3. What is the best place to buy FX 35 cover seats with decent price?

I have the clear bra, although I don't know if there is more than one style out there. It does not extend over the trim - it covers only the paint on the bumper and part of the hood. I wouldn't think the material would do well over seams or cracks.

I know others have tinted over the factory tint, but most tinting is not designed to work that way. You should remove the factory tint first.

Cover seats - not sure. But when you find some that actually look good - let me know!

Factory tints aren't done with a film. They are spray on tints that darken in between the different layers of glass. it is virtually impossible to remove them

I think the answer is you CAN install the clear bra over trim, but it's won't look good. The material won't get into the seams and you'll see air bubbles in the bra.

My front windows were tinted at the dealership and can be peeled off. The back windows and hatch window are factory dark tinted and can't be removed. Most people tint the fronts to match the backs.

so since the factory tints are within the glass.. he can still tint over them right.?..

i mean it is just glass he is just getting them darker...

aye so that answer one of his questions about getting the rear windows tinted. i dont know about clear bra over the trims.. it wouldnt look right...

have anyone tried / have these seat covers from Cover king? Just curious to the fit and how it looks in the FX.

infiniti leather sucksssss

I was just curious if anyone has done this. I hate to wear new jeans in my FX, since I hate the wheat interior. :embarrassed:

when i had my fx during the football season I used a generic car cover so i didn't get the seats filthy

just wash your jeans twice before you wear them in the fx lol

I'm not a huge guy or anything - 6' 1" and 205 lbs. But after about 75,000 miles, my driver seat leather cracked on the sides and front of the seat and the cracks grew until there were a couple 4 inch tears. I definitely take care of my car inside and out.

I ended up removing the seat and having an upholstery shop stitch in new OEM leather. Seat looks completely stock.

covers won't avoid cracks in the side really but I guess will avoid the blue jeans problem with the wheat, but what difference would it make?, at that point your not seeing the leather anyway, just seat covers... I hated the wheat for this but I think I'd still rather look at slightly dirty & blue tinted wheat than seat covers...

I have to agree. I bought this car for a lot of reasons, one being the beautiful interior. I really don't want to hide it with seat covers :)

Seats can always be redone/repaired down the road (way down the road). It might not be cheap but I think it will be worth it for the enjoyment of the sweet leather in our rides.
